The worst insult to fans is not that Shymalan decided to turn the movie into a Cliff's Notes version of the cartoon... using incredibly large amounts of plot exposition dialogue... it's that when he did change the story... he removed the very best parts of the cartoon.

King Boomy?

Sokka's future girlfriend Suki?

Jet?

Aang's first fire-bending master, Jeong?

Roku?

None of them appear in the movie.

I was able to watch the cartoon a few years back. It's my FAVORITE American made cartoon next to the Simpsons.

There should be no sequel! A reboot is the best thing to do just like what they did with "The Hulk".

I also watched a fight scene between Zuko and Kitara, total bummer! It was like watching a Turn Based RPG game.

And he didn't put ROKU and THE AVATAR STATE MONSTER??? He should stop writing,directing or do any job related to film making, really!!! hehe... or maybe, get the creators to write the screenplay???

Another thing i realized from the clips i watched was the firebenders NEEDED FIRE for them to bend! WTF was that all about? hahahaha!


Here's what Dave Patel(Zuko, Slumdog Millionaire guy) said in an interview about TLA.

'Slumdog Millionaire' star Dev Patel is finding it hard to promote his latest movie 'The Last Airbender', after the film was hit with bad reviews by the critics.

The 20-year-old actor takes on the role of Prince Zuko in M Night Shyamalan's fantasy film which has been panned by the critics, Playlist magazine reported.

"You know, you can't lie and say that every single review written about the film is wrong," Patel said.

The movie is a feature film adaptation of the animated series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'.

"But for me, it's really tricky. Because at this stage in my career I didn't have as much say as I would have liked in the film. Yes, there are parts in it that truly amaze me. But there are others, you know...," Patel said.

Konietzko: We’re just really focused on this new show right now, and kind of taking this off in its own direction and not concerning ourselves with that right now.

So you didn’t follow the casting controversy about the movie version of “The Last Airbender”?

Konietzko: We didn’t head up that film. We’re just happy to be back generating the original content in this mythology, which is what we do.

I think that says it all. Luckily, the creators are on it's pre-Production stage of a spin-off called "The Legend of Korra" A female Avatar.

Inception. 9/10 for me. May mga times kasi na nalito ako. ^^ Sabog pa audio sa Robinsons Manila, theater number 6.

The Ghost Writer. IMO, shallow plot but with good cast like Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattral and Olivia Williams. Nice conversations but no real action nor suspense... Ending was almost predictable....

Chloe,- hot Amanda Seyfried, with (not-so-hot) Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson... ***-thriller/drama....

for all car lovers/addicts

The movie is called "Chernaya Molniya" or "Black Lightning" in english.
About a normal College student getting his first car not knowing that its capable of flight.
It was premiered only in Russia on Dec 31, 2009, produced by "WANTED" movie director Timur Bekmambetov. This was a big box office hit there so much russian people are still raving months after the premier.
A close friend of mine who returned from a trip to Moscow, went to all the trouble of getting me the Blu-ray copy of the movie since he knows I'm a total gear-head(perfect souviner)....
I thank the Lord the Blu-ray disc had an awesome dubbed english version on it with great subtitles....

This is one of the most entertaining car related movies I have seen in years compared to other recent movies which mostly involve street racing, vices and hot exotic cars....
Its a great action movie hands down, I applaud the CGI effects since the movie is made under Universal Studios(yup the US based company made a russian movie) even though the screen-play was somehow comparable to Spider-man; instead of the guy with spider powers you get a guy with a flying car. I can't remove the smile from my face even after watching it, makes me wish my car could fly like the 1965 Volga car in the film.
I really want to lend my Blu-ray copy to anyone here in Manila since there are no copies of it in Video Stores here anywhere... but I love it so much I wouldn't even let my wifey touch/smudge-up the disc....
