Fringe is a TV series co-created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series premiered on September 9, 2008 on FOX, CTV and A, and on the Nine Network in Australia on September 17, 2008.[1]. It will premiere in the United Kingdom in early October, 2008 on Sky1.
The series deals with a research scientist named Walter Bishop (described as "Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein" and portrayed by John Noble), his son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), and an FBI agent, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) who brings them back together. The show is described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone, Dark Angel .
Plot:
When an international flight lands at Boston's Logan Airport and there are no signs of life, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham, a scientist, Walter Bishop, and his son Peter uncover a deadly mystery involving a mysterious plague and a series of unbelievable events. It all revolves around fringe science; a new branch of science dealing with mind reading, levitation, invisibility, and even reanimation of the dead. Olivia, Peter, and Walter are in charge of investigating all strange events, some of them even seem to look like "experiments".
