regarding the 600K comparo in C!, am a bit disappointed. yes the reviews are there but BITIN talaga. as the least, they could've done a one page article for each of the vehicles plus a more comprehensive tech & feature spec sheet.

and they also tend to blabber so much about non-car stuff that it is sometimes longer than the car-related stuff (see the X3 / 6 series review).

    niky,

Yup, most of the content is available online. Pero wala akong computer sa banyo (where I do most of my reading). :D
Touché... read Car and Driver on the Toilet, and wipe with Car Finder when you're finished!

Car and Driver is probably the best and most unbiased (if that's possible...) but it is sooooo expensive!

Top Gear is also another publication/website/TV show that I consider extremely good, but like I said, I will wait and see where the local content goes over the next few issues before making judgement. It's not enough for the ever-present Jeremy Clarkson and gang to be there... the local team must also live up to the standards and quality of Top Gear UK...

Don't disgrace the name, guys... You've got to give that 200%!

That's why automakers hold Top Gear at arm's length... they are not going to mince words, hold back opinions, or baby cars... they hold everything up to close scrutiny... they aren't afraid to lambast Mercedes or BMW... they aren't afraid to poke fun at the Ford GT (probably one of the most important supercars to come along in the past year) AFTER saying it was a great car... they don't give magazine brochure-type ads for car companies, they tell you almost everything.

Top Gear is straight shooter... no bull.

That's what our local boys on the Top Gear staff have to live up to. I'm waiting to see what their other writers can do... please, no short brochure-type articles (like rev or T3 or all the others)... no indecisive comparos... (like C!, sadly)... and please, if it's a lemon... treat it as such: with sour words and lots of acid. :evillaugh:

    Good luck, boys!!!

Car & Driver is the most popular magazine in the world i think... that's why it can get away with scathing reviews hehehe; it's got car manufacturers at its mercy

No comparison! Its like comparing apples with oranges. We can truly say and compare them when the right time comes. Its too early to tell.

I don't think it'll be comparable until a few more issues.
Did Mike show you what I sent him?

Well for me I still prefer C!, somehow Top Gear would still need to improve itself, esp. in the quality of the images they have, plus quite a few of the cars they feature are not available here anyway. On the other hand Top Gear does have a few sections that are unique to it. such as the section where people send in their questions regarding their cars...

well for this month also I actually have not yet purchased either of the two, not even FHM, but i'll prob. get a copy of C!

FHM this month (November) is better than recent FHMs. Top Gear this month is a mixed bag... some better, some worse... even the foreign articles. Still in the midst of growing pains, I suppose.

Badtrip lang nga kasi yung C! Magazine wala akong mabiling back issues... mukhang sold out palagi.

Yeah, just go to their office in Makati. Minsan, if you chat with one of the editors, they'll let you take home an issue of your choice...

There are stores that have back issues on sale, but not at prices as low as TG.
