Lol! Eerie when he recited the angel of God while confronting the "angel".

Hehe. Specially creepy since that is one of the first prayers taught to little kids. Imagine yourself as a young kid getting visited by that "angel" after the prayer!

Yup same here! Grew up studies also in a catholic school, & family was also very religious & actively serving also in church. Was also also a sacristan before, but like the lead character, you get to question the existence of God & religion after an event in your life.

Although I am a practicing Catholic, my personal philosophy towards religion is that whatever you believe is ok, as long as the life you lead adheres to the same fundamental ideals. Never cared for the ceremony as much as the principle behind.

Hehe, indeed it's rather convenient for you & I to say we're more spiritual than religious, more Mary than Martha, more into deed than rites....but ceremonies are rooted from way back the Old Testament when the Lord was heard to speak directly to the prophets with specific details & demands of rituals. The Holy Mass is itself a reenactment & constant reminder of the consecration, the Last Supper. Most of us here likely grew up learning to give the Lord His due(e.g. to genuflect as a sign of respect & admission of our unworth...& the term Sunday's best)...much MORE than we should the so-called 'honorable' men, but do we really? Hehe...Funny we now hear 'hon.' used to address even brgy captains.[emoji13]
To me, what matters is that nothing gets lost in our focus on the big pic...the ultimate prize....
But, what if there isn't any as Riley has come to believe?[emoji16] I'd wish to be more Greene...opting to err on the side of caution & hope, by His mercy, we can thread the needle to escape scalding damnation...hehe.[emoji120]

No defender of the church nor of any faith here...Life's got too many mysteries science just has no answers for(yet) to turn me unbeliever. I prefer to take Christianity not a religion, but a way of life, a tough but rewarding path....not some law to follow nor cross...not some badge nor brand to put us above or better than anyone. The Y'shua I yearn is personal.[emoji120]
