Welcome to funk, he he he. I love this genre as well. There are lots of great funk artists. I'm from the old school so I love them "oldies", as the some would say. Some old school funk artists/bands: Earth, Wind and Fire, James Brown (he was one of the inspirations for funk), Slave, Cameo, Sly & the Family Stone, Zapp, The Brothers Johnson, The Gapp Band, Kool & The Gang, Chic, Commodores, Scott Davis & The Movements and a lot, lot more.
