Should David Niven even be included, since his Bond film was a satire?
I grew up recognizing Sean Connery as 007, so I usually end up comparing other Bond portrayals to his. Runner-ups would be Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.
Best Bond movie? Really hard to say, although I think GoldenEye is significant because it was the first to introduce M as a female. Takes a lot of balls to summon an agent with a license to kill and berate him "a ***ist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War era".
Favorite Bond car? The BMW 750iL used in Tomorrow Never Dies, with a rocket launcher, concealed cable cutter, reinflating tires, impact-resistant glass and a 20,000 volt security system. All of that and more, remotely operable via an Ericsson JB988 cellphone. The V8 Vantage Volante used in The Living Daylights and Die Another Day's V12 Vanquish, both from Aston Martin, are also cool.
Best Bond villain? Elliot Carver, again from TND. The thought of a media mogul inciting world war sounds plausible to me, more than fictional terrorist groups hiding in subterranean fortresses or hovering in space.Last edited by Bogeyman; November 19th, 2008 at 07:43 PM.
