I plan to trade in my car for a new mx5 soft top and would be my daily driver. Would I have any problems with the soft top mx5 as my daily driver, considering possible occurences such as vandalism and rain leaks.

Leaks, no. Vandals, depends on where you park. Even ordinary cars get vandalized if you park in shady places. 😊

Interested in getting an MX5 before the new excise tax kicks in. Does anyone have an Mazda SA they can recommend? Or if they know a dealer that has a unit in stock?

Mazda iStop or Honda Start/Stop Battery woes?
You have the Motolite option thru dealerships w/ 1yr warranty:

    OR
Finally, you have the higher spec'd, competitively priced Delkor from Johnson Controls, same maker of Varta & Optima, w/ 15mo. warranty.

For details, call or viber OVTph, +639174726847

And iStop relearning? Check this DIY:

    1. Warm the engine up. Turn everything electrical off that you can - radio, A/C, lights, chargers, etc. Bring it close to electrical load.

    2. Switch the ignition off.

    3. Switch ignition to on but dont start engine. Long-press the i-stop OFF switch for 3 s within 5 s after switching the ignition ON.

    4. Start the engine.

    5. Press the i-stop OFF switch. Verify that the i-stop indicator light (green) flashes and stays flashing. If it does not flash, go back to Step 3.

    6. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes, or until the i-stop indicator light (green) turns off. Mine didnt stop flashing so after 10 minutes or so i just went to step 7.

    7. Switch the engine off. Wait a minute or two.

    8. Start the engine. Go for a drive, and check that the i-stop system operates normally. Those with i-stop will know that you may need to drive a mile or two until it activates. Remember that i-stop will not operate when (a) for diesels...when engines are in DPF regen mode, and (b) in those other conditions stated in the manual. Also, if a new battery was fitted, it may take some time for the new battery to fully charge up before i-stop will start working. Go for a decent drive so it gets fully charged.

    9. If i-stop operates as normal, reset it was a success.

Surprisingly, Motolite is pricier than its introductory price. Now available thru OVTph +639174726847.

I'm assuming that the controls are still functional like the steering buttons and knob. Nice set-up!

DPS dealers in chicago. With this done, it's possible that headunit can be replaced by a single din unit. Unfortunately there is no available module yet that the steering wheel control can still be used. I hope that Maestro would make one for 2016 miata.

Good thing that Android Auto is possible, so I'll settle for that. I don't have the guts to do what you did though I really admire the setup.

this would be my next project car in a few years but thinking of parking a soft-top miata in Manila, I'll probably get paranoid of someone slashing my roof.

for current owners, any bad experiences with someone just slashing the roof and stealing your belongings?
