no idea why but same thing with a/t vs m/t version of brz/86. talagang mahina ang a/t version. a tuned a/t 86/brz with ihe is only as fast as a completely stock m/t 86/brz.
Shifting delay kaya? Wala naman reklamo sa mga automatic ng McLaren lambo Porsche at Ferrari hehe. Joke lang
i'm getting this one but i'm debating between the a/t and m/t. went to mazda cebu last saturday supposedly to test drive both but they do not have units for test drivingthey priced the m/t at 1.7M (plus 20k for the soul red) and a/t at 1.880M (plus 20k for the soul red). with your comments about the "hatak" and its throttle response (and,of course, the price difference) honestly, i'm leaning towards the m/t. my question now is, how about the clutch or the clutching, isn't that hard? that was my complaint with my FD before. TIA
I wasn't able to test the MT Miata also but based on my dad's MT CX-5 Mazda's clutch is very light and forgiving.
Definitely the MT. It's just gonna be a weekend car anyway. You'll get the most fun driving on mountain roads with a manual MX5.

bro macsd ka flight ko mas matanda pa sa akin (10 yrs older) naka brz. was informed by my SA sa mazda na the first to buy ng mx5 nila ang yung owner ng university of cebu. he is in his 70s :D
tiningnan ko front seat puede range bag or even the smaller golf bag puede na
Saktong sakto for the MT. I drive hundreds of kilometers of provincial roads per week, and it's really much more fun doing it with a manual.
You don't get stuck in traffic that much in Cebu, yeah? So no need to compromise your driving fun by getting an automatic for a Miata. It's not tiring I tell you.

wala namang MILF o MNLF o ASG o NPA dito. fyi i was part of the team that verified cebu province as insurgency free. i don't think driving an mx5 is a security risk. a very small car with relative speed and torque is even a plus because it is nimble enough to easily wiggle out to safety.
The manual is indeed much more fun. But like other Mazda automatics, the AT in the MX5 is actually more responsive and more fun than in other mass-market sports cars. Solid shifts, thanks to a locking clutch, quick response, and you don't get a dead zone in acceleration as with the 86 or Genesis, it pulls linearly from low to high rpm.
(granted, the Genesis is much faster past 4k rpm...)

The only security issue you'll have with the MX-5 over a regular sub-2m car is thieves might try to slice the top open to get at any items left inside while parking... whether they'll be successful... unknown... there's a lot of plastic reinforcement and ribbing in there.

Lovely car the MX-5. Incredibly nimble despite the oddly soft suspension, and it feels faster than an 86, because it's so light (against the clock, it is faster, actually). I'd love to put one on the racetrack against an 86.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i'm stationed in the northern part bro. so, after danao city, traffic is already very light. i travel around 300 kms more or less a week. i have no problem with thieves slicing its soft cover. i don't consider it as a security issue. thieves are territorial. and in a small community like ours everyone knows who's who. i'm almost decided sa m/t but niky is saying mx5 auto transmission is responsive and fun. i wish i could test drive both para walang regrets. the problem is, wala silang pang test drive and we only have one dealer dito. anyhow, i weigh heavily in favor of the m/t.
As per the AT, Juan... that woiuld matter if you lived in Manila. Considering where you are... MT... easier to maintain over the long term, and playing with the stick is a great stress reliever.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Bro, share agad ang pix ha pag dating ng miata mo. Kailan ang blessing para uuwi ako.![]()
