Looking at this, CX-5 and mazda 3.
Since the ground clearance of the 3 are almost the same, and I think the cargo is also the same, any reason to choose the CUV's over the mazda 3?
I don't understand Mazda's pricing here. If I were in the market for a CUV at this 1.3M price range, why would I go for the smaller CX3 pro at 1.28M if there's the CX5 Max at 1.3M already after discounts. It has the same engine yes, but you get much more metal and interior space, just sacrificing the MZD headunit.

It's the same with every brand, price of the top of the line variant of a vehicle model will usually overlap with the lower end variant of the next higher model ... Mazda 2 / Mazda 3, Honda HR-V / CR-V, Toyota Vios / Altis and so on ...
Got to see it in person, then did a back-to-back with the H-RV. I can say CX3 definitely feels more claustrophobic, headroom is way lacking. That sedan ground clearance too. I'll go for the XV or CX5 if I had this budget and not interested in PPVs.

I think there's something fundamentally wrong with the CX3, more than just the pricing. I still wouldn't buy it even if it was priced the same as a Mazda 3 2.0.
For one, it doesn't offer any additional ground clearance over a Mazda 3. What's the point of a CUV without increased ground clearance.
Second, it has the underpinnings of a Mazda 2. From my experience, a compact usually has a more durable chassis than a subcompact.
Third, it has much less space than a Mazda 3. It's very hard to fit 3 people in the back of the CX3.
Fourth, and this is more of a personal opinion, the Mazda 3 looks classier than the CX3. The CX3's rear, being a direct ripoff of the Mazda 2, doesn't look as upscale as the Mazda 3's.
