Oh yeah, the Ford Fiesta. Hyundai Accent is in another class (Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, Honda Civic, etc.)

As far as I remember the Fiesta and Accent are subcompacts competing with the Vios, City, Almera, and the Mazda 2.
Ford and Hyundai's contender with the compacts (Corolla, Mazda 3, Civic, etc) are the Focus and Elantra, respectively.

I just had a call with my agent. There's a new promo for Mazda 2. I'll have a Php 10,000.00 rebate if I add 5k to the reservation I made a couple of weeks ago. So 845k na lang ang total ng Mazda 2 Hatchback if you reserve for 10k.

I just wanted to let you guys know for those who reserved already.

Drive normally. Isama mo ang usual na kasabay mo sa oto so you will get a feel of the weight and they will get a feel of the interior.

When I did my test drive I requested to bring the car home to test fit the garage. Buti nagkasya

Depends on the agent handling the drive. It's best if you talk about your intended route before starting the test so you'll be on the same page. Don't worry about the gas. When we started the drive the gas warning light was on. It was still on when we parted ways

Tried the new Mazda 2 yesterday and it was pretty good. I want to know though if it's one of those Mazda cars than need the special 14k battery? Thanks

Done with my test drive last Sunday. However, Alabang area lang pwede i-drive around yung unit. Sobrang smooth i-drive compared to our Mazda Tribute. And yung steering, sobrang gaan. Nakakapanibago haha. Overall, satisfied ako sa pagkuha ng unit :D

Problem ko na lang, hirap hiritan ng Free LTO registration kasi wala daw talaga sa mga brand new units.

Best to test drive other cars also. Mazda Tribute is a larger and older vehicle so it's natural that you think the Mazda2 (which is smaller) would be much better to drive. It has electronic power steering already (like most vehicles these days) so steering is light at low speed and gets heavier at higher speeds.

Got an update from my agent. Units will arrive at Cabuyao Warehouse on July 22 and Dealerships are targeted to receive their units on July 25. Colors available during those dates: Sonic Grey and White.
