91-93 should be safe. Di pa rin ako convinced na higher octane gas like Blaze will destroy our engines. Baka may miscommunication lang somewhere. Pero since it runs perfectly well on the cheapest available gas ok na ako don
Ako rin sir, currently using Shell Fuelsave 91RON. (Have also tried Caltex Silver initially). I was thinking of trying the premium ones for the 'additives'/'engine cleaning' claims/etc. kung pasok.. once in a while lang naman - still go to gas parin ung Fuel Save

Well, if you backread a bit in the CX-5 forum, there have been cases of clogged injectors due to usage of high octane fuels. The additives in these so-called high octane fuels were the ones cited as the cause of the clogging.

As for the use of unleaded gas, SkyActiv engines were designed to burn--in some countries with clean fuel--87 octane gas. In our case, 91 is the lowest available, and is the one recommended for use.

Tama ba na okay lang umakyat wag lang bababa sa 91? Or should it be strict hanggang 93 lang (Regular unleaded - Caltext Silver/Shell Fuelsave/Petron Xtra Advance). Thanks

Use the mileage computer. When going downhill in D it will say that you are consuming 0 liters per 100 kms. Shift to N while moving and the injectors will turn on again to keep the engine idling. It's actually better and safer to keep the tranny in D unless you are at a full stop. It is highly discouraged to shift between N and any other gear if the vehicle is moving.

coasting along in N is potentially dangerous. we lose the engine go/brake advantage. MT or AT. and if the engine somehow stops, we also lose power steering and power brakes..
the possible but miniscule fuel savings of coasting in N, may not even pay for the paper the accident report will be written on, in the event of a crash..

So tempting lang to coast in N because there is no engine break and the momentum takes you farther. Coasting in D is still the safest.

Has anyone tried listening to music with a USB while at the same time charging your cellphone with the 2nd USB slot? It just kept loading kasi and I'm not sure if pwede magsabay. Nagmamadali lang ako kanina kaya i just removed the usb. Try ko ulit later pagdrive ulit.

Baka pwede mo off ang USB storage mode ng phone. The HU will attempt to cache the contents of the USB if it detects a connection.

I use a cheap USB charging cord in the car. Walang data capabilities ang cable so power source lang talaga sya.

Takot kasi sila na di bumenta dahil high compression = high octane. Nasobrahan sa PR hehe. That didn't stop 100k Americans from buying the 3

Thanks! Same color din sa CX-5 pala.

Bit the bullet kanina. Paid a reservation fee for 2.0R Soul Red HB sa Mazda Pasig kanina.
