I heard 1.5L and 2.0L SkyActiv-G and 2.2L SkyActiv-D lang ang engines. Low output ang 1.5L pero high torque. Plus remember it is lighter than the current gen Mazda 3.

The global engine lineup for the all-new Mazda 3 hatchback includes a newly developed 1.5-liter Skyactiv gasoline engine in addition to the 2.0- and 2.5-liter mills and 2.2-liter clean diesel powerplant. A hybrid electric sedan version will also be made available but only for Mazda's home country.

Actually, the new Mazdas shares just one platform. The SkyActiv platform is much like the MQB platform of VW. It is developed to underpin multiple models. Even the next Mazda 2 will get this platform although chopped to accommodate the petite dimensions of the 2. Only the MX5 will seem to get a new platform, this time, co-developed with Alfa Romeo.
