After a week of mixed driving (1 day to tagaytay, about 9-10 days urban) total around 300++kms in odometer. We are getting an avg of 10km/L(based on the cars own monitor). We are still yet to gas up for the full thank method of checking.

Overall average trip from Pasig-tagyatay-QC: distance around 160km. 14 Km/L

don't want to conclude anything pero i was pondering on Mr_Fixit's post above (2 or 3 pages back)

    key details:

300++kms in odometer (1 day to tagaytay, about 9-10 days urban) - assume na nating 350km odo reading
    trip to tagaytay - 160km
    average consumption - 10 km/l
    tagaytay trip consumption - 14 km/l

from the assumed total odo, we have 160km tagaytay trip and assumed 190km city drive

trip to tagaytay consumed 11.43L of gas - 160km/(14km/l)
assumed total consumed gas is 35L - 350km/(10km/l)
computed gas consumption for city drive is 23.57L - 35L minus 11.43L

190km city drive distance consumed 23.57L of gas = 8.06km/l city driving FC

    owner 1 - 7.5km/l (actual - trip computer)
    owner 2 - 8.06km/l (assumed/computed - trip computer) +/-0.3km/l (depende sa actual odo reading)

based on the 2 samples above, are these good numbers?
imho, for a new engine/ transmission technology, NO - the worst i got with my mzr is 8.1km/l

pasensya na.. wala lang magawa sa office.. hehe

Sir, if tama compute ko, You are averaging around 7.4km/l sa 14 days na city driving mo
Heavy traffic ba sa route mo sir?

Gathering data rin kasi ako as of the moment as i'm planning to get one next year

    Thanks!

Actually, wala pa ako nakikita na 5dr. Puro sedan. Initial feedback from Mazda was that meron daw sila approx 2 months waiting time that started a few weeks after the April launch at BGC.

'Yung sakin saktong may dumating na color na sedan na gusto ko eh, so actually wala pang 1 week nakuha ko na unit.
Mas in-demand raw ang mga hatchbacks, so mas matagal siguro waiting period kapag hatch.

Am familiar with the Fairview-Commonwealth route, and 9 km/L is so-so...not bad, but not spectacular either. I think other 1.6L compacts can do the same as well - traffic lang kasi until East Fairview but from Batasan to Technohub light traffic na yan.

When I go home at night nga, I can get 20 km/L average reading from car's MID, traveling from Palmera to T. Sora underpass. Pababa kasi from Batasan to Commonwealth so you can coast most of the time and maximize DFCO.

My FC (M3 1.5) if I recall correctly is approx 7 km/L in city driving, and in highway driving (ave. 50 - 60 kmh) is 14 km/L.
I forgot my actual figures in SLEX but I think it's a bit higher than 14 km/L.

Next time kailangan na talagang i-record! =p

(Note na city driving is manual computation and highway driving is via on-board computer)

Yes, a 9 km/L FC is not bad. Plus the fact that my odo reading is approx. 280 km. I believe consumption will even improve as the mileage increases, right? I will be sending more FC updates soon.

By the way, I'm driving a 2.0L engine.

    Oh, a 2.0! Wow that's great FC for a 2.0!

Surely it'll improve even more as you approach 1000 km

If it was the 1.5, so-so lang, but that's great for your 2.0.

    Thanks sir!

    Update on the FC:
Had a full tank yesterday. When I first had my full tank, the kilometer reading was 28km. Yesterday it was 392km and the full tank registered 39.62L (still had 2 bars left in the gauge meter).

Please correct me if my computation below is right:
    392km - 28km = 364km / 39.62L = 9.18km/L

My trip computer reading at the time was 10.8L/100km which gives 9.25km/L

My route was still the same, Fairview-Commonwealth with max speed of 60kph (bec of speed limit). Never had a chance yet to drive it in actual highway road.

Saw a white hatchback kahapon along Dela Rosa street, Makati. Haay sobrang dalang pa din talaga ang 2014 mazda3. When viewed from the side, parang masyadong maliit ang 16" wheels nya.
