We just got our Mazda 3 1.5L Sedan more than a week ago.
for question #2. No trunk release in the interior. The boot unlocks when you press the central unlock on the driver side door. This works as i tried it when entering mall parking yesterday. The guards know that there is an open button at the rear.
After a week of mixed driving (1 day to tagaytay, about 9-10 days urban) total around 300++kms in odometer. We are getting an avg of 10km/L(based on the cars own monitor). We are still yet to gas up for the full thank method of checking.
During our tagaytay climb 2 weekends ago, here are the figures we got. *All from the car's monitor, so accuracy not guaranteed.
C5-SLEX. Light traffic. avg speed: 90-100km/h 15.4 km/l
Slightly uphill climb to tagaytay from sta.rosa w/ medium traffic (twas a queue going up kasi weekend) avg speed: 20-40km/h 13.3km/l
From tagaytay down to sta rosa. Medium to heavy traffic (15-40km/h) a lot of times bumper to bumper from the ridge to just right after the national road leading down. 11.8 km/l.
Overall average trip from Pasig-tagyatay-QC: distance around 160km. 14 Km/L
1. That's the right way to do it. Keeping it in D will add unnecessary stress to your transmission and brakes.
3. Hindi talaga nauunlock using the remote. Use the door unlock button using the cabin.

Mga boss i do suddgest lang po na everytime namakakakuha tayo ng chance namasilip ang mazda3 sa casa or sa mall display do point out the thing na wala sa sasakyan like the other masda3 outside the country. Like ung camera na already a basic thing to have specialy in the mazda3 2.0, sd card whats the use of gps kung di mo magamit? Sa mga my unit na po na mazda pakitry i-open ung forum ng 2011 montero sport forum naglagay ng link dun para makapagdown load ng gps card program. I'm just not so sure it will work but it worth to try na mapagana ung gps.
Twice nako nakapag-inquire ng masda3 2.0 na sinasabi ko nga bakit wala ng mga dapat na meron dahil nga dapat high end siya ng mazda3 tapos tinanggal nila iba feature.. after a year ilalagay na nila pra masabi na uprade.

I sat inside the Mazda 3 awhile ago at Trans Sport show. All of the materials are nice to touch and the fit and finish is also perfect. My only gripe is the rear view mirror which looks quite large for me. The sunroof is too small I think? Or maybe I'm just used to my friend's panoramic roof in his Tucson. Also, Altis still wins in rear passenger legroom and headroom. I adjust my seat into my driving position then tried to sit in the back. It didn't have enough legroom for me to slouch and the back seat felt too low.
Overall it's still a great looking car, the best interior among the current compact cars. Well anyway it's perfect for those looking for an alternative/coding family car. It might not be the best car if you'll always have to carry 4 passengers with you.
hi sir, if you don't mind me asking, ano lumilitaw sa screen when you try to press the GPS navigation button?
It will prompt you that the GPS is not activated and will show you instead, if im not mistaken, a compass.
The GPS is still on development process for mazda. In fact, the test units at BGC have a functional GPS. Honestly, I never thought that the GPS will be activated for ph units. I didnt yet encounter any brand right now that offers a PH map on its OEM factory touch screen system. Like Ford's MyFordTouch, Chevy's MyLink, etc. If mazda can make it for us, even if it is not a volume seller on our country, then Good Job Mazda!
Mitsubishi and Toyota vehicles as well as Hyundai, Kia and others equipped with GPS are mostly sourced outside (most from china) and installed locally. maps and services are maintained by winterpine.

May nasource kasi ako from abroad na merong pwede ikabit sa existing head unit so that it will work with Windows CE based maps (like the one being sold in Winterpine). This will allow the unit to sideload GPS maps without making modifications to the original system. I found one that allowed gps navigation for Ford Explorer, Mazda CX-5 and the new Mazda 6, as these units have already been equipped with touchscreen monitors. Since the Mazda 3 is still fairly new and not yet available in other markets, it may take a while before a hack like that for the Mazda 3 will be available.

curious din ako about the gps since as far as i know tomtombased yung software ata. read it some gps forums na hindi based sa windows yung file system ng sd card, maybe some quirky linux based sysrem daw.
also, it appears the sd card pairs itself with the gps and once paired you might not be able to clone copy the card for use in another device.
sabi ng nasa gpsunderground forums noone has been able to crack it yet since 2013 dahil nga medyo secure yung system talaga.
if it is not tomtom data based, then what could it be? any ideas?
Pag hindi ka talaga isang car enthusiast malamang bandwagon ka niyan. Mga uncle ko na bading mga walang hilig sa auto ,puro sila toyota, fortuner, montero nalang

7.5 km/L was worst case scenario (i.e bumper to bumper) traffic.
It's foolish to dismiss the Mz3 1.5 as a gas-guzzler because of one user's feedback.
