Should we be worried about rust in the current gen here in the PH?

I saw a thread from other forums experiencing rust on their 2014 Mazda 3. Rust are found on door hinges and in between the trunk and backglass.

rust on door hinge? that's expected! just spray with lubricant.
between trunk and back glass? that sounds like poor body repair.

errr.. would you have more information, sir? sounds like we're missing something..

applying lubricant doesn't solve the problem bcoz the rust had have build-up in the metal instead scrub away the rust by using fine grade sandpaper or a wire brush. scrape the affected area until the rust begins to disappear then apply primer. another way to remove the rust is by applying rush converter, let it dry before applying the premier (optional)

The early 323s/Familias had rust problems but most were due to a design flaw of the wheel wells which acted as a mud trap. Kaya I always make sure to clean and wipe down the wheel wells of my cars.

This buddy who witnessed his Grille Plate Relocation w/o bumper removal, shared me the video he took. The process did not last 10mins, he said. Just removal of all the bumper fasteners above the grille to allow tilting & access to the plate nuts, that's it.....
Sadly, this dinosaur is a total fail in posting vids. Hahaha.
I can only share this pic of another Great White Speed...
    Happily RELOCATED:D

Those thinking about Grille Plate Relocation...... it's pretty simple after all!
The Relocator Kit requires No-drilling...just a quick & simple DIY install!

    Thanks!!!!

Let's be vigilant.... my washes are regular DIYs & I've noticed nothing after more than a year....The sedan trunk & windshield weatherstrip area is commonly prone to corrosion, but I've yet to hear local gen3s complain.
I wasn't as lucky w/ my gen2 CRV which had stubborn recurrent corrosion on doors no matter the repeated treatments.

This is their single bank model I'm using. My other cars are also hooked w/ Deltran cables, which you can buy separately, for easy plug&play.

They also have bigger, multi-bank units for tending multiple cars.
Contact fld*mozcom.com if you wanna get 1 in the Philippines.

I've been ask not just a few times on how to cover the grille bolt holes left by plate relocation...
    Here are my favored options:
    1. Simple & P50 cheap Black RTV Silicone you can buy in hardware & auto shops:

    2. eBay or BMW(white...needs to be painted black) license plate screw caps:

    3. A badge of your preference wide enough to cover the 2 holes:

    4. dr.d's awesome suggestion of an appropriately sized upholstery plug. Something like this:

    Thanks!!!

sir, have you considered a nut-and-bolt combination into them holes.? the result is more permanent.
hanap lang kayo ng medyo-borloloy na bolt, like those shiny ones the jeepneys use..

puede rin, yung mga plastic mushroom-like thingees they use for the door sidings and trunk wall covers.. get the right size, and just push in to install. use some glue for longevity.

    Thanks for that suggestion.
Please post a pic of your preferred bling bolt & nut, doc.
I just shared the subtle, stealth & OE options I'm more into.
....and edited the options post to add your awesome upholstery plug suggestion I overlooked, doc.👍

    Question:

Will the 2.0r headlamp fit as a direct replacement to the 1.5?

I saw some surplus in amazon and looks a good fit but not sure whether it's plug n play to my hobo 1.5

    Tnx

Mounting wise it will fit. But wiring harness will likely be different so its not a plug n play affair.

How much nakita mo bro? Plug and play yan sa fit. Sa wirings sisiw lang yan sa mga electrical shops if you're willing to void yojin3 sa electronics.

I'm presuming they should if they come complete...except for the DRL function.

Even w/o the DRL & Auto-level features, this would be a worthy conversion. Aftermarket kits just don't cut it. The lenses used for Halogen and HID are different and disperse light in a different pattern. That's the core issue.

To go brand new OE HID conversion basing on US online prices, it would look something like this....
    -HID Control box: 2x$270
    -Headlamp w/ auto-leveling: 2x $1k
    -HID igniter: 2x$110
-HID bulb: 2x$175 (Crazy!!!!..cheaper on amazon, surely)
Total? Yikes!!!! At least $3000 in major parts, add $50+ or so in gaskets and bolts.😱

OE HID conversion= NO HOBO....sticking w/ OE halogens here.....unless by some miracle, a complete OE kit can be had for cheap!!!
