I just think that the mazda3 hb is a rare sight than the sedan form. Though I've been waiting since June.
If I were coveting the fin, I wouldn't half arse it by going faux.....but then, the fin was my lone reason for ignoring the 2.0.:D
Sedan vs Hatch is more about personal preference above all. No better or worse debate. Some were born butt people....I happen to be breast!:D

Totally agree with you on that! Bonus nalang ang utility ng hatch. ***y either form!

Talk about bonuses....the simple possibilities of these options: 2 exposed exhaust tips, stubby/fin aerials & stock/speed hatch wings are a bunch for a minute cost difference....
The stuff those Berjaya guys were smoking must be soooo gooood.:D

Oh yes! So little cost but the 1.5hb may look similar to the 2.0 already (ofcourse if bought outside casa). Hehe. I hope someone has a hobo solution to mimic the 2.0 antenna fin without losing radio signals.

But don't you love the flexibility of the hobo stubby that the fin can't possess?:D

    I can change it anytime...from stock euro, Honda 1s, J's...to whatever's out there.:D

    Hello sirs,

    Gas consumption: sedan vs hb

Since the hb is a little heavier and less aerodynamic than the sedan, will it result to a significant variance in their gas consumption? Especially during long drives?

Yep the sedan is actually more aerodynamic: Hatchback Vs. Sedan (why does a sedan have a better Cd?) - Fuel Economy, Hypermiling, EcoModding News and Forum - EcoModder.com

And surprisingly based on the brochure the hatch is 6-10kgs heavier

Shorter butt + huge rear door means less room for rear impact cushioning hence more reinforcement is required.

I wouldn't fret about FC difference though. It all depends on the driver and the driving conditions pa rin.

Kung magkakaroon man ng difference, hindi naman siguro ganun kalaki. I think negligible naman ang difference

Offsetting the 6-10kg difference as our brothah, JohnM, mentioned is easy....I was able to shave off almost 13kgs w/ lighter wheels alone. And, unsprung rotational weight(ie wheels, tires, crank pulley) will have greater impact on performance, handling & efficiency than sprung weight(any load projected to the car's suspension).
But, overall? The difference might be too slight to matter.
It won't be fair if the hatch had no cons. Right, Hot Hatch brah?:D

    My hobo++ option:
    - ditch the spare tire and the tools
    - half tank of gas max
    - visit the throne before driving :flush:

I still won't worry about it too much. I'm happy with how it is for now

Annoying con of hatch is that the rear windshield accumulates dust easily because it is ***ily angled. =)

the hatch rear windshield is also more easily cleaned, than the sedan's.
you don't have to have longer arms and an acrobat's back, to do it.

Speaking of wheels, I really liked your previous wheels (Rx8?) I'm not sure of the brand but the alloy one. Do you have any idea where to get that here in the PH?

It will also take longer time to cool the whole cabin, right? And that smelly palengke basket would be smelled by all the passengers!

The sedan is no better. I put 2 orders of freshly-cooked Coco Hut chicken in the trunk and I could smell it all the way home :chicken:

In that case, I guess my 1992 sentra's better in keeping the smell in the trunk. :p

Can't agree more, John brah....or a hatch owner can go further, torture himself healthier to drop 10kgs of his own weight.

Here's a pic of how a gen3 M3 specific Air Force suspension (luxury variant) kit looks like. This is loud3's, fellow revolutionist.

Not for the hobo us, GrandMast3rs Geo & John.:D

The Mown3r crowd has been grateful to guys like Louie Anson Ng for making M3specific mods like the rear view camera affordably available. I'm sure many would wish him to add these if possible:
    Anti-curb rash cam:

    Front anti-so-many-things cam::D

    Corresponding split screen:
    360° Bird's Eye video interface:

    Would you guys agree?
How about it, Louie Anson Ng sir???
