i was just surfing thru... and i saw this trunk-accessor-from-rear-seat thingee...
if my battery dies, opening the rear trunk in the usual manner is no big deal.. a lot simpler than the instructions above...

but the toyota mechanism is a lot easier.. walang turni-turnilyong nakatago.. just pull the knobs and voila!

sometimes, i think the designers were forbidden from talking to each other...
Isn't the sedan switch electrically controlled? If your caught w/ a deader than dead batt, the switch might be lifeless, too. These steps came in handy when a Mown3r forgot to replug the trunk latch harness after working on his sound system & slammed the trunk shut. The electronic lock switch was, of course, disabled.
And, if you need to extend the trunk storage to load long items, at least you've this option.
With no trunk keyhole, locksmiths have 1 less make to work with.

you mean, walang mechanical susi-an ang rear trunk? at walang cable latch beside the driver??
i don't know, but it seems to me, putting in a mechanical latch release might be cheaper than allowing that rear seatback to open via hidden screw.. or maybe, putting in an easily-accessible knob would be just as expensive to install as that hidden screw...

just like my recent-model innova E... but one can easily climb into the iinnova's rear...
cost-cutting must be among the manufacturing ten commandments now..

If there were options like a keyhole or a latch release cable....but sadly, NO, latch is electronically controlled

Let's re-state that, doc. Dealership dependence is the way they want the future to be.

1 of my older cars had neither a keyhole nor a latch cable. I just wouldn't concede defeat, so....dug & devised a hobo stealth fishing line latch release.

That trunk is now dead batt/dead latch-Proof. Works like a charm to this day....at no cost.:D
    Apologies for the commercial break.

Now let's backtrack a lil to this 1:
    Air Suspension

If you're NO HOBO & wanna:
    - enter steep ramps w/o scrape worries
    - load the car w/ 8 adults w/o bottoming out worries
    - wade thru floods like a CX5
    - go off road to the virgin beaches & unexplored backroads
    - not worry about inflating tires as the system has a multi-function compressor that can fill air or run pneumatic tools
    - lower the car's center of gravity & reduce body roll
    - still look good for that EB pictorial....
    - Lift & Drop on the fly in 4-7seconds....

    Then, air is for you!
The cons? Like most complex systems, they may not be as reliable as their simplest form: struts & springs.....and they're No Hobo.

Air, anyone? Let's hope the ModFath3r digs into the 5 available variants of Air Force Suspension's M3 bolt on kit.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone experienced some "langit-ngit" when going over speedbumps?

I am so glad to report that I have not experienced any langitngit except for the full left turn from stop that bro travajante posted here. I got my unit last April so I guess they already learned the lessons from the 1st batch. I am so surprised because if you can imagine... I am at 10,000 kms na in just 3 months! My holidays and weekends route is Tanayburgring area where I do hard cornerings at 70 to 100 kph. And my daily route is Manggahan Floodway known as mud, dirt, and pot holes galore area.

In addition, I am the kind of person who finds satisfaction pag mas laspag ang gamit so I do not avoid lubak areas, I go anywhere especially roads with plenty of downhill and uphill curves and hairpins where I cannot help but shake my head and grin on the driving dynamics of Mazda 3 Skyactiv. All of those for an economy car or pang masa price. =) By the way, I only have the 1.5L in stock form, paano pa kaya kung modified or yung 2.0?, at yun lang ang regret ko na dapat nag 2.0 na ko. =)

When was your M3 released? Have the dealership assess & replicate. It's highly likely that they'll put on your front coils two KDY534081 spring protectors/insulators. Have them grease your strutmount bearings should they add those protectors. A few of the earlier builds had those mild clunks over speed bumps in low speed. Hope yours gets sorted.
Thanks, gez1 sir. My Tagalog vocabulary has seen some growth here.
