Yan daw ang true test ng serious thinking buyer, see if you still like to buy it after 1 month of waiting

Mga masters, kaya bang isupport ng LCD monitor ng M3 ang rear camera? I'm thinking na kung kaya, kaya din siguro sa M2. Thanks!

    sir Kimbon,

the terms i got for 1.6l 2nd gen was lower than 1.5l ToTL City/ Vios, even though Mazda's SRP was higher by 50k to 60k
also got around 20k worth of freebies

that's 1 year before the release of 3rd gen. i'm assuming buyers got better deal few months before the release

Challenge goes beyond Berjaya. Mazda had to open the Salamanca plant to address the shortage in the Americas. That plant also churns out the Sky M2-based Yarises & Scion iAs. Japan has its hands full. They could very well feed us Thai or China units though, but that strips 1 of the M badge's brag rights of feeding our discriminating market w/ exclusively nippon units, aside from the tired MZR powered Thai Maxx.
Now that Mazda has succeeded w/ the pusher's trick of instilling addiction, do you think it's time they feed our market w/ some Thai or Chino blend?
Pinoys, generally, would rather wait, I suppose.

I doubt its Hiroshima's fault. According to my SA, their local plant aka warehouse is only now expanding hence they are limited in the number of units they can bring in (including 3s, 2s, 6s, MXs and BTs).

If space is the only limitation to addressing the shortage, I believe that's an easy fix. Warehouses for lease are aplenty. Our local dealership is expanding, too.....but they've figured ways to temporarily separate the showroom elsewhere to avoid inconvenience while performing tech services under the currently-renovating area.
Somehow, things become more sought after when scarce. It enhances that sense of imagined value that you finally got what you wanted after the torturous wait. I've the suspicion Berjaya might be walking that tightrope. Think the likes of the classic VX80 cruiser. Enthusiasts are still paying premium for mint units almost 2 decades after. They were priced a bit higher than the Pajeros & the Patrols, & were scarce. Now, depending on condition, they still fetch wild prices. The cyclic interval of exciting products like those don't happen every model change. Mazda struck gold here......I had to wait a year ago & to this day, it still feels like Day1. That smile is now a grin.:D
    Well worth the wait, guys!!!!

That's thinking leaps ahead, sir. I'm hoping the traditional generation-ending 300hp AWD MazdaSpeed 3 would reach our shores before we get the gen4.
That will let us play w/ the big Euro boys.

Of course, there are really different target market segments for the 1.5 and 2.0 (also the 1.6 Maxx) but it'll all boil down to how much patience you got and how much guts you have to gamble and shy away from what is conventional.

There are actually pros and cons for owning a Mazda3. Looking at the bright side, one, you don't get to see that often on the road, meaning there are only a few of you to probably own that ride that you can get to distinguish your car (no exclusivity intended) as compared to Civics and Altis'. You're probably different from the pack (which I see it as a positive). On the other hand, people tends to think that since there aren't many out on the road, quality and reliability are mediocre because they dont have the sales numbers to support it (atleast locally).

At the end of the day, it is you who will decide but our suggestion is only valid if you have the patience to wait and the guts to gamble from the norms. Then again, it is really worth the wait. 😊😊
+1 on what the GrandMast3r just said.
Mazda may just be a speck in the automotive world. True, but now free of the chains of Ford, kodo+SkyActiv has taken the world by storm & surprise...like that Marquez punch. It dazed even Toyota, the largest of them, to join the bandwagon of a hit this lil boy M-badge has begun. It's time the combustion engine got reinvented.
And oh, I love my hobo 1.5....absolutely no regrets. It's seeing no track anyway.:D

The waiting is almost over. My SA confirmed my long-awaited unit is here! He sent me the car's details.

Mga sirs, pagka release ba ng unit ninyo meron na bang OR/CR?

I doubt a true Mazdaspeed will be released locally. Most likely the SA spiel will go: Sir meron po kami limted special edition for an additional 100k! Customer: Wow! Ano kaibahan niya sa regular variant? SA: Sir may LIMITED badge at color fuschia po. Customer: Ok, but waht else? Paano siya naging Limited? SA: Sir 50 badges lang po pinagawa namin at 50 lang po ang pininturahan ng fuschia. Customer: Hooo kaay...

Yes exagerated pero look at all the TRD Vioses and Mugen Citys running around.

Kaya nga, ngayon pa lang sila nagpapalaki, both warehouse and dealers. Yung 2 ko nanggaling pa ng Taytay. Binanggit ko nga dun sa North Edsa at Quezon Ave. na naka-open lang yung sevicing nila, samantalang yung sa Columbian Motors, 3 multistory buildings.

Let's give Berjaya the benefit of the doubt. They might have pushed that expansion too far & late....bottleneck & choking are now the consequences.
Or.... they might have set the bar of expectations too low & are happy w/ their current sales figures that might be multiple folds of generations past.
It's a great & happy corporate problem to have....sadly, at the expense of potential Mown3rs.
Berjaya should realize even the hottest iron will fizzle cold. They've to strike now.:D

At first I'm having second thoughts of buying a 1.5, afraid of it will be underpowered, but tried it today in car free stretch of road and wow! I'm really surprised, engine is a punchy little b_strd 😎.
FC data from the dash says 10li/100kms, odo reading is 165kms, hope it will do better after break in.
