You could also drive back via Cebu - Bacolod - Iloilo - Caticlan - Batangas. Visit more places along the way.

Trucks and buses use the roro also, so I don't think it'll be a problem for you. There might be extra charge for hitch mounted carrier, as it takes up more space.

Mga sirs, Im planning to travel to Cebu by land and I back read some replies and search the google for best route. In google map the route is
Manila- Pio duran, Albay
Pio duran port- Masbate Port
Masbate travel to Cataingan approximately 70km.
Cataingan Port - Polambato Bogo cebu Port.
From Bogo city, Cebu travel to Cebu city approximately 80km.
If I use Manila to Matnog, Sorsogon port - Allen and Allen to Calbayog city then Calbayog city Port to Cebu city port? Is this route more easy.?
Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you mga Sirs.![]()
I've never tried the Pio Duran- Bogo City route so I can't comment on that.
Although I've passed through Matnog to Allen a couple of times before (about 10 years ago) and tried both the Isabel-Danao route as well as well Ormoc-Cebu City route, The best route in my opinion, if you like to drive is via:
Roro Batangas Port-Calapan
Drive Calapan-Roxas (Mindoro)
Roro Roxas(Mindoro)-Caticlan(Malay)
Drive Caticlan-Dumangas
Roro Dumangas-Bacolod
Drive Bacolod-Escalante or San Carlos
Roro Escalante-Tabuelan or San Carlos-Toledo
I like this route as it's not as secluded if nagkaaberya and there are lots of areas to stop or eat along the way except in Mindoro. There are also buses who use the Dumangas-Bacolod roro as well as the Escalante-Tabuelan roro services as far as I remember. If the purpose of the trip is leisure, you can stop a few days in Boracay and a day or so in Bacolod before heading out to Cebu.
Sa route na to ang pinakakailangan habulin sched is yun crossing ng Roxas-Caticlan, palagi matagal ang waiting time dyan and yun timing din sa Dumangas-Bacolod... the rest are fairly regular as far as I remember.
I travel this route but coming from Cebu to Manila.
Boarded Cokaliong at Cebu City, Friday 7PM, arrived Masbate City 7 AM next day.
Then took the RORO to Pio Duran at around 12 noon, arrive Pio at 5 PM.
I usually take the Cokaliong to Calbayog because its faster even though its longer drive
Unfortunately there were reported land slides from Calbayog to Allen, thats why I took the Masbate route.
In your case you are travelling to Cebu, you have 2 options;
1. Leave Manila Friday and arrive Pio before 3 AM Saturday to catch the 5AM RORO to Masbate. Arrived Masbate at around 10 AM. Board the 7 PM Cokaliong to Cebu , and arrive Cebu Sunday 7 AM. Call first Cokaliong Masbate for reservation.
2.If travelling Friday is not an option, travel on other days following same schedule as above, but you have to be at Masbate City before 6 AM, since the Montenegro Lines leave Cataingan for Bogo at 12 noon. Masbate City is 2 hours drive to Cataingan. Travel time is about 6 hours, you should reach Bogo at around 6 PM. Travel time from Bogo to Cebu City is about 3-4 hours, traffic.
Between 3 to 4 hours from Polangbato to uptown Cebu City.
From Danao, hindi kana maka maintain ng 40 KPH.
Pag pasok mo ng Liloan pabagal na ng pabagal.
Pagdating ng Consolacion, samot.
Pag lagpas mo ng Mandaue, no choice either Cuenco or Cabahug parehas na bumper to bumper.
Kahit weekends traffic nadin, we went to DBantayan on a weekend, dami kong kasabay na mga van.
Im Planning to travel with my car from quezon city to cebu city. What would be the best route to take? Via leyte or masbate? Thanks

I take the backdoor scenic zero traffic route..... Bogo-San Remegio(catch the awesome sunset there)-Balamban(grab some great liempo..Johnna's Liempo by the Balamban bus terminal road)...
Then, up, down the twisties of Transcentral Highway. Stop over West35 for their refreshing lemonade & Adventure Cafe for some mountain fresh air...Stress relieving....[emoji4]

Did you pass by the Temple of Leah on your way down to Lahug?
I like the pizzas at west35 and the green salads.
The west road is really scenic, but I dont recommend this route to first timers, due mostly to the zigzag climb at Gaas and the frequent slides at Sinsin, these are accident prone areas.
