don't you have enough room under your bed for your fat lab to hide? add some buffers with the openings if needed then you may put mattresses on your window/s to muffle the sound even more.
I can hear fireworks My bed's bottom in solid and she rarely stays in my room because there's too much for her to chew on or eat.
