In reality, Marcos highway (or whatever its called now) is the route for trucks, buses, lorries, and any other vehicle that is too big to fit in Kennon's tight bends.

Suicidal? No. It's just a twisty road going up a bunch of mountains.
my time difference between the 2 routes are between 15-20 minutes. That is why I always take the MH

Marcos is 10km longer than Kennon so for most drivers that's an additional 15-20 minutes.

I prefer Kennon because the roads are smoother (Marcos' cement is bumpy because of all the trucks). Currently there's only one part of Kennon that's one-lane (a bridge in Camp 4 or 5). But even considering the one-lane portion plus 15 peso toll, it's still faster and cheaper to go up Kennon which is why all the UV Express vans pass there.

    Hmmm, that's nice to know.

Maybe it was all the trucks that held me up ..

I always take Kennon, rain or shine.

I make my decision when I reach Rosario. Kennon if it's sunny, Marcos when it looks like it's gonna rain.

That's right sir. The heavyweights can usually cause a queue especially for those who dont frequent the city. I find MH better because the road is wider and makes for an easy passing maneuver. But since kennon is shorter and steeper, this is what people use the most. I wanted to pass through kennon during my last visit(last week of August). However there were a lot of road works so I took MH instead.

Just went up and down Kennon kahapon. Slight drizzle but traffic was very light.

Camp 5 lang may major construction, yung sa may bridge. May minor road works scattered along the way but 2 lanes pa rin.

Thanks Jut. We safely arrived Baguio via Kenon Road. Weird that we've experienced very thick fog(thank you bago palit halogen bulbs ko) on sctex before Urdaneta exit up to La Union boundary kaninang 5am, then Kenon malinis walang fog. lol.
For me, on rainy season basta may mild rain lang i will not recommend kennon, delikado erosion with those small rocks.

Ang bilis na pala ng mga bus to Baguio. My sister left Manila at 4:30am and then arrived at 8:40 in Baguio.

I was expecting they'd arrive at 9:30am so I left at Dagupan at 8. Had to drive like a madman to make it by 9am, badtrip pa mga tricycle sa Rosario and mga mababagal na sasakyan paakyat ng Kennon. 😂
