Nlex
Sctex
Tplex
Mcarthur hiway
Kennon
Reverse when going home.
Check out google maps too.
This is the best way. . .

^^
Last time I used Paniqui.
I dunno if its still the same today. The TS can ask the TPLEX toll booth operators naman on which exit to take, just to be sure.
Thanks!
Heard somewhere else that the roads from the Paniqui exit to MacArthur were smaller than those from Gerona, so the latter was the preferred exit. Wasn't able to confirm.
Or use the search function of tsikot instead of creating a new thread. Peace.

Is there somebody actually counted the number of left and right turns going up to Baguio? I don't think Kennon has more if you count turns from Saitan junction until the two roads finally meet again just after Baguio General Hospital. It looks mas marami ang turns sa Kennon kasi mas frequent but the road is a way shorter.
For a first timer during these months, may be it is more advisable to take Kennon where traffic going up and down is slower.

Using waze will guide you to TPLEX Gerona exit but I took Paniqui exit din. This was just last month.
Also planning to go to baguio next week po. Advisable pa ba dumaan sa magilas trail?Ano last exit ng tplex?

^Gerona pero nakakaligaw. Maguilas is not recommend if you are not familiar of the place. I suggest you return to MacArthur at Paniqui Exit.
nakakainis ang roadworks sa pangasinan lalu na kung daytime ka bibiyahe....another alternative is to take a left turn at the 2nd stop light at urdaneta city.
it will take you through the towns of manaoag, mangaldan, san jacinto, san fabian and exit manila north road/mcarthur hway (damortis junction). drive up farther north up to agoo and take a right turn to aspiras (a.k.a marcos hiway)
you may also want to take this route even at night. dito nadaan ang mga ilocos bound buses (except partas) din just to avoid the traffic caused by roadworks at the main highway. huwag ka lang dadaan dun sa may "to san fabian" sa may bandang san jacinto kasi it's a road less travelled. some motorists even reported stoning incidents at night at that road. direcho ka lang hanggang matumbok mo yung coastal road papuntang dagupan.
but if you decide to go through the roadworks, exercise caution esp at night dahil yung convergence ng newly paved road sa old road ay may ground hump na maari ka gawing mad max kung hindi mo ito makita agad. nangyari ito sa akin. may sinusundan akong starex at high speeds e kotse ang dala ko. bigla umalikabok ng makapal at ayun muntikan na tumalon kotse dahil dun sa humps.
hindi pa pala tapos yung mga roadworks na 'yan? yan ang nagpahirap sa amin last time we went there last feb. yata yun. isa pa yung pila sa tollbooths ng scitex kasi long weekend nun at ang dami umakyat.
basta going to baguio, we also prefer kennon road. pag swerte ka na walang masyado kasabay na trak or traysikel ang bilis lang ng byahe at kayang-kaya segunda/tersera minsan nakaka-kwarta pa (manual or auto). pag may mga mabagal na kasabay at halos convoy na kayo sa bagal, jusko babad primera/segunda.
Was in La Union over the weekend. Suggest you guys use the Magilas Trail or the Urdaneta-Manaog-San Jacinto-San Fabian route. My simple mind tells me that those ongoing repair works (widening and/or reblocking) wont be done by Holy Week. Going there we used the TPLEX. As soon as hit Villasis the the traffic hit us...and it went all the way up to the southern La Union towns.
Coming to Manila we opted for the Magilas Trail. The time difference between coming and going was 2-3 hours.
Try Camiling to San Fabian. Road is as good as it can be.

onga pala hindi ko naisip ito. but if ever someone decides this route, SCTEX tarlac city or luisita ang exit. then some patintero sa mga trikes ng tarlac city.
and yes its true, the choice of route is still up to the driver. if in doubt, take your usual route esp. kung gabi. kung daytime and have some time to spare para sa mga "lost" situation, you may want to try these alternatives.
^I've used that road before. Yung dadaan ng Bayambang, kala ko di na kami makakalabas sa taniman ng mga mais. Kung Baguio papunta, napakalayong ikot. Siguro best pa rin mag MacArthur pero midnight dumaan para kaunting traffic na lang.
