today should be light from Metro Manila to TPLEX. Baguio proper is expected to be heavy.

i took my family up baguio december 27 and went down december 28. first time na ako ang nagdrive paakyat/pababa. usually halfway up pag medyo matarik na, mag nagsu-sub sa akin.

nlex > sctex > tplex > mcarthur highway > marcos/aspiras highway. we went up marcos highway because we had to pass by our ancestral home sa agoo, la union (which is at the foot of marcos highway). also marcos highway is wider and smoother than kennon. and also my relatives from la union also advised taking marcos highway (taga-roon sila so i value their opinion).

no traffic/problems going up. sa baguio proper mismo ang traffic kasi andaming sasakyan saka mga ginawang one-way streets (temporary lang ata for the season).

Went up yesterday morning. Passed through NLEX-SCTEX-TPLEX-Kennon. Only long wait times were at border of SCTEX-TPLEX and TPLEX Urdaneta exit. Yep heavy traffic in Baguio proper. Kennon road is very passable with only 2 points with short one lane passing.

Badtrip lang while passing through Kennon is yung Lions head area, yan yung steep part kung kelan pa naka arangkada ka papanik no choice ka but to slow down, stop dahil dun sa mga humihinto sa area na yun, meron pa makakapalmuks na mag hazard na lang sa daan.

On our way up mga kinapos sa bwelo nasa harapan ko, ayun pahirapan.

    Keep safe distance lagi.

Yep, always keep a good distance from the car ahead when you're climbing, unless you're about to pass. On that part of Kennon, proper timing/road view and palakasan ng first gear yan when it comes to passing.

i opted to take mcarthur hiway (old route) nung nagbyahe kami ng family ko to the south (bale from the north kami) netong nagdaang bakasyon. nasa pangasinan tarlac kami around 8-10 pm going south.

Bro.,- Angeles City > SCTEX > TPLEX > Urdaneta > Binalonan > Pozzorubio > Sison > Rosario > Kennon should be a breeze...

Lots of tricycles in the middle of McArthur Hiway....

There are a couple of roadworks at Kennon,- but very much manageable....

We were there Thursday last week....

Driving your new (Montero) ride, e?.... Did the same thing....

    Nice!

Akyat kami this weekend from Laguna. As usual madaling araw alis namin.

Any suggestion to avoid that area like exit sctex before its end then enter tplex somewhere?
