The GS is indeed a good road trip vehicle. It's got the space, the acceleration and the power. 1.8L gas Cruze was needed long stretches to catch up on the flat straights. Going up lalo. Lamang na sa pababa. Hehehe! High speed Stability is good as well, relatively that is.

Same here. At least for the last 2 times I went up north. Shell and the first Petron are just too early. Ok na to, in prep for the long national highway ahead.
Just realized, 3.5 hours lang pala ang byahe ni vinj, with a short bite na din. How fast were you going on NLEX and MacArthur?

It's not as crowded as the stations at the Bulacan area
It's really fast if you take the old road and there's no traffic in the cities and trikes to slow you down (i did not even take SCTEX going up). Speed-wise i was mostly doing 80-120kph on the two lane roads since it was night time and there were not too many cars to pass. I checked my text message time table and i was in Tarlac City 10:23pm, La Union approaching the Marcos highway bypass at 11:49pm, and I was gassing up in Petron Baguio at 12:38am (I usually text my Tito or my younger brother when i pass Luisita or Tarlac City, and approach Kennon/Marcos and when i get up to Baguio just to keep them aware of my location).
I gassed up at Petron Lakeshore and then at Petron in Baguio; per my fuel consumption app, i used 13.48L over 177kms traveled (Petron Lakeshore to Petron Baguio rotunda) for an FC of 13.13km/L. What's strange though is on googlemaps, it's 187kms when i compute the distance.

I only gas in Baguio if I really "need" to. Gas prices up there are WTF!

February 5th, 2013 02:48 PM #217Is it advisable to go to Baguio during midnight for first timers? Which way is the best? Probably 6 adult, 3 kids. Thanks!

No. Safety reasons. Even if you have your own transport, still no. Go during daytime to familiarize yourself with the place, route, and road conditions.

^ Para SC diba? Nagpa-gas sa mas mahal. :D
2-3 pesos difference in Baguio at the least so for my tanking up of XCS when i arrive, its around 40 pesos more expensive since i gassed up 13L+. I used to stretch my gasoline to below 1/4 before i gas up (which is usually on my way home) but i'm switching my practice to filling up when i arrive in Baguio just in case there's an emergency or calamity that occurs.
On driving up for the first time, i'd also advice to go during the day.
