When driving up north, it's actually much nicer than driving to Lucena where there are more suicidal buses. Just be aware of the following when you're on Mc Arthur Highway:
- Palay being dried on the shoulder (pag maganda panahon)
- Trikes driving in the middle of the road
- The oncoming vehicles are generally faster than those you'd encounter on the two lane highways down south so you have to gauge the speed more when you're passing.
- Bus and jeeps may stop suddenly near populated areas so don't make tutok.
I've had my share of tricycles during my trip to Zambales -- very annoying. Thank you for the pointers.
