April 19th, 2017 08:39 AM #81rims lang? as in, stock steel rims? hindi mags?
hindi ko alam address and name ng tindahan.
but you might try the bigger tire stores in the metro. evangelista and banawe come to mind.
some owners, upon buying their brand new cars, immediately go to these tire stores for tire and mags upgrades. if you can score these "discarded" rims, they will probably be cheaper than buying brand new ones.

April 19th, 2017 09:26 AM #82i beg your pardon sir *dr. d, mags po since steel rims ang stock ng GLX variant ng mirage. since makapal pa yung goma ko eh plan ko kumuha ng de-kinse na mags na black para medyo malinis tingnan instead of other colors ng mags kasi white yung unit ko. alam ko nga sa evangelista at banawe pero wala kasi ako kilalang store/tao dun, diba uso mga replica ng mags today? (e.g. vossen, advan, rota...etc) but i appreaciate the input ;)
btw: blumentritt is the first place that came to my mind as far as mags...parang mas mura compared sa banawe or evangelista...

April 19th, 2017 10:02 AM #83noted, po.
the only advice i can give you, to avoid fakes, is to go to official dealers of these mags. they have a reputation to protect. ask the manufacturer, po. they have internet addresses and dealers' lists.
i think some tsikoters here will guide you.
good luck.

April 19th, 2017 10:08 AM #84good call sir *dr. d, i will definitely do that like what i did with Royal Purple engine oil, i checked their site to see their list of distributors here in the Philippines. thanks for reminding me, am on it right now. the reason by the way i removed all hubcaps is because natatakot ako na baka makadisgrasya sa kalsada incase mabilis na takbo, mukang madali nga kasi mabaklas kasi nung hinugot ko gamit lang ang mga kamay ko, no need to use a flat screw/any tools.

Replica lang halos lahat ng branded rims na binibenta because mahal ang orig na rims.
Gagastos ka ba ng 100k+ for the rims of your 600k car? Yan ang presyo ng orig na Volk, Rays, etc.
If you will go with the usual replicas, mura lang nasa 15-25k for 15". Rota and Concept One, both local rim suppliers, sell rims that are based on designs of more established brands, but have more stringent quality-control measures than your usual TE37 knockoff.
Personally, I've owned cars with replica rims. My old Altis had Work Esperio 02r replicas, and my newer Altis had OEM-style Lexus IS250 copy rims.
Both rims were stable even if I brought the car to their top speeds very frequently (200 kph for the newer Altis). I even used it on track and hindi naman nasira. I also used it to drive over 50,000 km in under 2 years across practically all provinces of Luzon, and it still works perfectly despite being subjected to our poor roads.

April 19th, 2017 10:15 AM #86many car owners use ties. unsightly, but it works marvelously.
if you look around on th road, many taxis sport plastic ties to secure their caps.
if you wish, you can replace the hub caps with the much smaller center caps. they don't easily come off.
and, in case you have dogs, steel rims stand up better than mags, against dog urine.
