they say that Benz Gelandewagens are in the running as the likely replacement, and that the issue is that the payload of the current Defender is low compared to its rivals. also, the next-generation defender is speculated to be built on the coming discovery chassis, which will be inappropriate for heavy-duty action
...end of the line for the legend?

July 22nd, 2004 04:53 AM #3The MB G-class is a better replacement. The UN are currently using these armored Benzes as well as other countries like Germany (obviously),Austria,France,South Africa,Russia,Spain,etc.
