There’s something unusual in our Kia Carens, particularly in its automatic transmission. After traveling for a few kilometers and the engine reached it normal temperature, I notice the following symptoms.
1. From full stop, the car is laboring to move forward.
2. At full stop, if the gear is shifted to either “R” or “D”, the car jerks - stronger at "R".
3. At full stop or in motion, if the gear is shifted to Sports Mode, the number of gear appearing on the indicator is always 3 regardless of the speed and even at full stop. It can be shifted down to 2 and back to 3 but never to 1 and 4.
4. While running and the gear is shifting, the gear slips before engaging.

Our Carens is now okay! It was nothing serious. Just a few broken wires that made the sensors erratic.
I'm still looking for the culprits - the RATS who gnawed the wires.
Please check my story here!

Swerte! It could have been a cause for an accident. Ingat nalang next time and try to eliminate the rats sa garage mo.
I think rats are a big menace. I once left my Sportage parked sa isang residential building for a couple of straight nights and then when I brought it to the casa a week after, they found rat droppings and what seems to be remains of a couple of meals they had near the engine! I immediately got very worried and asked the kind mechanics of Kia Pasay to check every single wiring and rubber hosings. Fortunately, they found everything's ok.
Is there a way to protect our vehicles from these pests?

Are mandatory seatbelts, and minimum brightness standards for exterior lighting also woke elements?
