Like what I have posted in the LPG Conversion thread, the savings in using LPG as fuel comes from the price difference between LPG & gasoline.
If you really want to exceed the fuel efficiency when using LPG as compared to gasoline, you will have to do a few more modifications to your engine.
-convert to LPG system using SGI or similar. (the common type is the LPG carb system)
-advance ignition timing by 10 degrees
-increase compression ratio
If you have done this mods, your car can achieve better fuel mileage and better horsepower output in LPG than gasoline. But these will also make your car unable to run on gasoline smoothly and costs a bit more to do. Since the goal is to achieve cost savings within a reasonable time period, in my opinion, the basic LPG conversions would be the advisable option.Last edited by ghosthunter; November 17th, 2007 at 09:26 AM.
