KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - Irvine, Calif.-based Kia Motors America says a stuck accelerator that caused an Iowa woman to drive at speeds over 110 mph on Interstate 35 appears to be an isolated incident.

The company emailed The Associated Press a statement Friday afternoon saying its technicians have been unable to duplicate the issue that took Lauri Ulvestad of Ames on a wild, high-speed ride in Missouri and Iowa on Sunday.

The statement says alternative transportation has been provided to Ulvestad, who was driving north near Bethany, Mo., on Sunday when she realized she couldn't get her 2011 Kia Sorento to slow down.

She called 911 and two state troopers caught up with her, with the three cars going 59 miles in 35 minutes before her car came to a stop near Osceola, Iowa.
