had the same problem with our pregio before. even after i change the alternator to a bigger amp one from a starex. it seemed that the engine would not crank when hot. the solution was to add grounding wire from the battery to the engine. since then ok na sya:-)

thanks sa tip sir. dalhin ko ulit dun sa pinagpalitan ko ng 110 alt para padadagan ko grounding. sana ok na.

Sir palitan mo ang ignition contact sa susihan. Madali lang kalasin at ikabit yan, 300 php lang naman ang presyo tapos okay na yan. Lose contact na kasi ang copper nyan lalo na kapag umiinit. Ganyan din kasi ang nangyari sa akin. Before niremedyohan ko muna kasi walang pangbili at akala ko mahal. Til I finally decided to replace the ignition contact. Now, okay na sya.

san mo pinapalit yung ignition contact ng car mo, sa akin kasi yan din problem ko pag maiinit yung makina ng kia carnival ko ayaw mag start. Ginawa ng electrician naglagay ng bypass wire yung sa battery para just incase ayaw mag start dikit ko lang yung wire sa red terminal habang naka on yung ignition. Naandar sya kaya lang hassle since bukas pa ako ng hood.

binili ko sir sa goodgear, pasay. tapos doon mismo sa tabi ng goodgear kung saan ako nakapark pinalitan ko na kasi madali lang naman palitan.

• sit on a driver side facing your steering wheel
• removed front steering wheel cover
• unplug those three socket of ignition contact assembly
• remove two screws of keylock on top of the ignition assembly housing (white plastic rectangular in shape)
• remove screw of ignition contact assembly opposite the keyhole, on your left side
• pull out the ignition contact assembly sideways
• instalation of ignition contact assembly is a reverse of these procedure

sir, have you tried turning on as in switching on the glow plug & waited for the lamp to fade on the control panel of your car 2x or 3x? then once you switch on your engine it starts...

Mga Sir, new member po and Kia Pregio Owner. Papatulong lang po sana ako sa mga experts. Gusto ko kasi magpalit ng head unit. Pano po ba kalasin? And yung mga bagong head unit po ba, compatible sa pregio natin? 98 Model po yung Pregio ko. Salamat mga sirs!

common problem is the alternator, even with the newer models. it is simply to small (75 amps) to generate adequate charging for the electrical requirements of the vehicle. if you decide to get one better if you replace the alternator to a higher rated one (90 amps or 110 amps) to avoid any inconvenience in the future. this will cost you anywhere from 6k - 10k, depending on where you have it done.
others experience overheating. i was fortunate enough to purchase a unit that already had 3 a/c condensers, so even during heavy traffic my temp is stable at a little less than halfway of the temp gauge.
as for the parts, it's very reasonably priced. Goodgear is the best place to get parts, they are cheaper than Fronte.
3.0 is definitely better. matic is great for city driving obviously, but if you go on long trips often then manual is the way to go.

yup. thats normal. dati sa pregio namin. 900 and idling w/o a/c. pag on ng a/c bumabagsak ng 600. kaya inayos ko na.

ganito rin nararamdam ko sa pregio ko, ramdam ko na bumababa yung rpm dahil walang tachometer pregio ko so yung basehan ko kapag ini-on ko A/C eh yung ingay ng engine at yung voltage sa alternator na bumababa.

at dahil bumababa yung voltage eh para ding nagdi-dim yung headlight ko pati ilaw sa panel at minsan pati sounds ko humihina... pero once na tatapakan yung accelerator eh parang back to normal lahat...

tanung ko lang po, anu po yung pinaayush nyo? yung actuator po ba? anu itsura nito? kaya po bang i-DIY na lng..TIA
