June 29th, 2015 08:13 AM #1I wonder why kia still used the FORTE name here in PH while in Malaysia the FORTE is being replaced by the new KIA CERATO. Hmmm I don't know why?

June 29th, 2015 04:54 PM #2Depende yan sa local market conditions. Minsan may iniiwasan na kapangalan o katunog. (Cerato sounds a lot like "sira ito").

Look at what happened with Nissan. Good car, silly name (Sylphy) = low sales.

July 1st, 2015 07:13 PM #7waste of marketing budget if they release those cars here. the Rio variants are not exactly selling well, then this pa. And then with those prices,
Corolla is being beaten by Ford Ecosport, the Tucsons, CRVs, Sportages are also being beaten by ecopsort.
What does that tell us? That the market wants a small yet flood-ready vehicle at a very affordable price. diesel does'not matter anymore, coz the new gasoline engines are thrifty enough for daily commute in Manila, diesels are also expensive to maintain add to to how big DIESEL SUVs are a pain to drive an in our ever congested roads.
Ford is now giving discounts to Ecosport. That means they intend to dominate this extremely practical and convenient to use car segment
Let's face it, sedans are dying, the only reason why City and Vios are still selling is because of affordability and top 1 and 2 respectively,
Now. That Honda is responding with Ecosport with Brv, Chevy with the Niva, it won't be long and he market will stick with the first 2 or 3. That's one of the laws of the marketing, so mga in denial pa na car manufacturers denying the dominance of Ecopsort, kilos. Coz once you come top 4 or lower, the market will not give quantity sales. Para Lang Mazda, cars are high end but sales are mediocre

The Ecosport has sold over 3,000 units for the first half of the year, while the Altis has only about 2,000.

Actually the Corolla is being outsold by the Ecosport. I don't have exact figures, just basing on the site below.
The Corolla only sold 5,679 units last 2014 translating to 473 per month. Ecosport is now enjoying 500-700 unit sales per month.
