I respect your decision bro And if you are not loading your carens heavily, the suspension is alright.
But for discussion and learning, what is really covered in the rear suspension warranty? Its practically nothing even the alignment and "consumables" such as some rubber bushings are not covered. I often use my Carens with cargo and full seating so I really need it Honestly, I don't think coil spring and other sturdy parts there will get damaged unless accident happens which is again not covered by warranty. Well, at least we, Carens user, have an option in case we want it...

Looks like the rear ground clearance is also a concern in Europe. Try to observe when you have driven the car for 5-10tkm.

I bought a Carens CRDi SE 1991cc auto last November and two months ago
noticed the rear suspension was lower than normal, comparing against new
Carens it was over 40mm lower, the offside was the worst but now both
sides are over 40mm lower. I had a look at a 2month old Carens and found
the offside nearly 15mm lower than the nearside.
I contacted the garage and they said Kia said it was OK, after writing
to Kia they have not replied.
The car used to look special being tall at the rear, now it looks like a
normal estate car.
Is there a problem, or is it normal for shockers/coil springs to reduce
over 40mm. The car has only done 12000miles.

My 2002 Carens (old design) doesn't show anything like that, nor I
ever noticed it on other Cares, which I look at with curiosity each
time I see one.
Strange how such a good car like the Carens, with it's very good
price, is so little popular here in Italy. Mine has done now about
38.000 km (23.000 miles) and never needed any service except for
scheduled maitenance every 15.000 km.
Dave, which country are you from, where both metric (mm) and medioeval
(miles) units -sorry, just kidding- are used?

Hi Franz
I am in the UK.
Since your Carens shows no problems it seems that they may have had a
bad batch of shockers in this last year. What I find annoying is that
Kia Customer services are not replying to my letters, after spending so
much money last november I was hoping for a better service.
Cheers
Dave

July 23rd, 2008 02:50 PM #15This is good, at least an option to lift the rear portion of the Carens. It looks like the spacer is of good quality and well (professionally) done. Paint it with black and it will be hardly noticeable. D na mapapansin ng KIA he he. When I get my Carens I will contact you CRDIVgt :-)

Yes actually i had my unit serviced in kia west gate alabang and they didn't even notice it. What they noticed is my increased ground clearance due to mags Yes the part is precision machined, di pwede yung basta lang kasi di naman ganito yung ordinary lifter. Also I can paint it in black, the latest one I installed is painted black parang wala nga.
