Di na rin po siya naka leather seat, brake drum sia sa likod, sa front lang siya
vent. disc. there are some other things na inalis nila, i just dont have my complete list.another bad move from CAC Di po ba dapat pag may bagong variant dapat meron additional features or accessories, pero sa kia baliktad sila bagong variant pero marami silang inalis, pero tumaas ang price nila. I just cant see the logic.
no abs... dapat standard feature na ito.

Regarding what you mentioned about the 4X2 Diesel facelifted version sportage having less features and accessories, its just too bad. Tucson on the other hand, has been adding features to their newer models. Not so with CAC
You're welcome, sir inquire ko lang kung ok ang performance ng sportage, kasi i was planning to get the 4x2 facelifted sportage (diesel), any comment regarding the sportage will be highly appreciated. TIA.

As for FC, too early to tell kasi nasa 900km pa lang odometer ko. At the moment, nasa 8.5 km/liter ako mixed city/highway driving. During my first full tank, it was 7.8 km/liter. Hope it goes up some more.
As I was used to driving cars with manual transmission before, medyo nababagalan lang ako sa pick up ng sportage automatic transmission. Kung aapakan mo naman ang gas pedal, medyo masakit sa dibdib. Especially now that diesel prices are going higher by the week. But once you reach the higher gears, mabilis talaga siya.
The exterior and interior appointments are well made. The exterior paint job I think has a thicker coat and feel to it, compared to my Honda City and Corolla na manipis at madaling magasgasan. Just my thoughts

BTW, I would also suggest that you read thru the thread "the new kia sportage". That was what I did before finally deciding on getting one myself. The good reviews and comments from sportage owners convinced me that I was having a good buy. Besides, the modifications from the previous model to the facelifted one are only skin deep. Consider too the features they took out from the facelifted 4x2, if you could turn a blind eye to it.

Thanks for the encouragement sir, hopefully this coming august ok na yon deal ko with my SA. Kaya lang im torn between diesel and gas variant considering that the price of diesel is levelling with the price of unleaded gas, any comment sir sa gas variant , also the facelifted sportage was stripped of some accessories and safety features.

Correct me if I am wrong pero un yatang gas variant hindi pa facelifted kaya malaki pa ang price difference. Re: bet dsl and gas, it all boils down to your usage. If hindi ka bababa ng 10-12,000 Km per year, mas sulit ang dsl kahit na halos pantay na sila ng presyo ng gas. Pero kung pang alternate/leisure vehicle mo lang, i think mas economically viable ang gas variant.

PS wala na bang available na pre-facelift models at their old prices? Baka kasi mas value for money iyon. maganda kasi ung cosmetic changes ng facelifted version, pero ang daming features na nawala. JMHO. HTH

You're right sir, di facelifted yon gas variant. Re price, yon gas is 979K, while yon facelifted (4x2) is 1.175K and the 4x4 is 1.325k, according sa SA ko wala na raw lumalabas na gas variant ngaun, does it mean phase out na gas variant ng sportage?

Regarding naman sa usage, base sa pag gamit ko ng xwind ng wife ko im within 10k - 12k km per year, so it means mas sulit if ever i'll be getting the dsl. Again thank you very much sir for the inputs, it really helps me to decide which is which.

    For computation sake:

Price Diff bw Gas and Diesel: P 196,000.00

    Assumptions:
    (1) Gas: 7.5km/L Price (E10): 58.57
    (2) Diesel: 9km/L Price: 57.48
    (3) You don't care about the difference between gas and diesel in terms of acceleration, torque, etc.
    (4) Maintenance cost is the same for gas and diesel.
    (5) Interest rate on the price difference is 0%.

    Total consumption per year:
    Gas: 1600 liters * 58.57 = 93,712.0
    Diesel: 1333 liters * 57.48 = 76,620.84
    Difference: 17,072.00

You'll need to use your car for 11.48 years (or around 138,000 km) so that you can recoup the initial cost in buying diesel.

For gas, you have the option to convert to LPG.

Disclosure: I bought the Gas version last year. However, if the Diesel version had VGT (same as Carens) it will be a different story.

Thanks for the post Warp ... hehe you made me smile about buying the gas variant ... so by the time I had recouped my additional investment it's more likely that I've already sold my car and bought a new one na ulit :-)

Welcome sir. This is just a rough computation and, of course, holds true only with the assumptions given.

I think, the price of Diesel had changed over the weekend for some oil companies. It is now more expensive than E10.

Is it just me or is there a bigger demand for e10 these days? I always have my full tank at the (somewhat) new Shell station at Edsa (beside jollibee, near GMA7). And for the pass two weekends, I would always hear that they ran out or no delivery yet of E10.

Thanks for the encouragement mga bro, i'll let you know pag nakakuha na ako sir Mnmg. i think i have to stick with the gas variant considering that the price of dsl is levelling wth the price gas. another thing is that the facelifted were stripped of some important safety features and accessories.

hmm, seems like there is a new engine for the Sportage. Kia's website has the 4x4 version with a 2.0 dsl engine with max hp at 142 while the 4x2 only has 112 hp.

    anybody here with more info?

erase, erase, erase. Mukhang typo error lang yata ung data re the new 4x4 crdi engine..

Btw, placed an order for a roof spoiler from Kia Quirino. Will have it installed next week.
