I've been using Shell Unleaded eversince. Kaso 93RON yun eh, so mas mataas pa rin sa recommended for the Rio.

I think the 91 RON written on our manual is the recommended minimum (and alam ko pinakamababa yung 93 RON dito sa atin, pero may nabasa ako na may lower RON fuels sa province for older cars). I'm following the specifications meant for the european market (since Kia cars were designed for europe) which states that the optimum RON is 95, and by reading the other threads here it look likes Petron XCS is one of the proven 95 RON fuels. Shell Unleaded and Premium are both only 93 RON.

I rechecked my manual and yes minimum nga yung 91RON. Thanks! Iba ata engines na nilalagay sa Europe baka may mga tweaks yun kaya 95RON ang recommended dun.

I'm working to get a Kia Rio for my company car as a replacement to the Ondoy damaged Vios. I've driven the pre-facelift Rio around 2006 and I do remember the more than adequate response of the 1.4 L engine. It is also good to know the positive aspects of this model from others. What's attractive is the 5 year/160K Km that goes with the unit. It shows the confidence that the manufacturer have on their products. Looking forward to becoming a Rio owner.

Ito ata ibig sabihin na tatay ko na mas maganda tunog ng makina sa Xtra Unleaded. Bukas kailangan ko magpakarga ulit and baka mag Xtra Unleaded na ako..post ko observations ko since 2 weeks na ako naka XCS so the effect should be noticeable for me.

Pansin ko parang di masyado accurate yung fuel gauge ng Rio. Nung unang fulltank ko, di pa naman umiilaw yung fuel warning light but nasa empty na yung needle. Auto-click is only 32.xx liters. Next full tank ko nasa 1/4 yung needle, 23-24 liters yung auto-click. Nasa spec sheet natin 45liter tank, with 5.5 to 6.5 liter reserve so dapat around 10liters yung 1/4 diba?

CMIIW, I think you hit the empty mark and that's when the empty light goes on. It means from that time on you have 5-6 liters left.

First full tank ko 35 liters lang nailagay it means meron 10 liters in the tank.

BTW FC ko is only 8.78km/li. Mostly short trips mga 10kms/day so wala talaga time para mag warm up ng maigi ang engine for optimum fuel consumption. Medyo over rev din palagi kasi nasanay sa medyo matigas na clutch hehehe. di pa rin ako sanay timplahin kaya ayun 1.5k halos pag arangkada. first full tank was shell premium. Ngayon I'm on sea oil unleaded. Will check FC again for this fuel. As far as engine response wala naman noticeable difference sa dalawang fuel.

Ung akin nsa January 2010 pa daw kc wlang stock tska xmas vacation daw mga tao sa planta. dumating January wala pa din daw stock, sa March pa daw. Dumating March na stock puro matic daw wlang manual, sa April daw dting manual. Dumating April wla nang reply ung kausap ko sa dealership. Tmwag kmi sa dealer ang sabi pa nman: "Hindi kc kayo nag fofollowup.."

Sumama tlga loob ko.. Umalis na pala ung ahente na kausap ko, nilipat kmi sa ibang agent. Submit uli daw kmi mga requirements tapos since tapos na ung promo magdadagdag kmi sa usual 20%-30% dp na req ng banko. CI uli and all.. Tgal ko na inaantay (Dec - April, 5mos) ung unit tapos mapapalaki pa gastos..

Inabot kayo ng malas sa agent sir, sayang naman. Yung sa akin nung una inoffer din yung LX version, sabi ko EX yung quote sa akin. Tapos sabi sa kin wait daw kami 2-3 weeks kasi walang available na unit. Nung dumating yung unit tinawagan naman kami ng sales agent na pwede na raw kunin. Try to change dealership sir baka pwede pa kayo maapprove for low DP. Yung sa amin kasi one day lang approved na application.

Sorry to hear that..minalas lang kayo siguro sa dealer. Yung unit ko inabot lang po ng 3 months (kasama siya dun sa matic na March batch), I ordered nung January. Additionally, ingat po kayo dyan sa mga super low downpayment ng ibang dealers kasi bumabawi po sila sa interest.

ahaha target ko pa lang yang 10-11 city driving sir, di pa reality yan. currently nasa 8-9 km/l ang city driving ko. kaya siguro yung 10, pero baka malabo na yung 11 considering the traffic situation plus the fact na nawawala yung "relaxed" driving ko pag uminit ang ulo hahahaha
