Ingat lang sa mga medyo racial comments.... Fact is this, the US giants are losing money (GM, Ford, and Chrysler) and the Asians are buying up their assets....

Ford is still a part owner of Jaguar and Land Rover because they currently share platforms with other Ford products. Logically thinking, Ford will not just let this car brands loose to an amateur specially if you spent billions in improving the two marques.

No Ford sold everything to Tata including all intellectual property rights... Tata can now do whatever it wants with Land Rover and Jaguar marque. While they create the cheapest car in the world, they are also entering the luxury space.... Interesting times for Asian car manufacturers. Now I wouldn't be shock if China buys some other luxury brands in America needing a bail out of cash

March 28th, 2008 09:44 AM #7I'm not suprised by this TATA bashing comment, I find the "pathetic brits" comment unfair, and let me remind you its business as usual for J-LR but with greater stability in their finance from this day forwad under TATA unlike Ford, TATA are just cash-cows under this situation, meaning J-LR will have all the money they need to invest in new models that Ford no longer have. in fact this company (TATA) is 140 years old, TATA is one hell of a wise company when buying companies, they are just more than just truck/motor manufaturers they are a powerful multinational conglomerate with a market value of more than $70bn and almost 290,000 people in its workforce in over 80 countries. Of course the fact they own UK brand Tetley Tea and Corus Steel, and play the successful role on funding Warwick Manufacturing Group (Warwick University UK) but thats not the end of it they also have strong reputation of partnerships with automotive industries with Fiat Group as well as being an engineering specialist working with Porsche, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Ford along with playing a role in working with Ferrari in Formula 1 racing team (Tata Consultancy Services/I.T technology) as well as running telecommunications and running Taj hotels.
As for this "jaguar cars in curry flavor, masala flavour" and "producing cheap knock-off Jags" argument that's not going to happen it still going to be JAGUAR & LAND ROVER nothing more just J-LR, no brand changes whatsoever, it will not be merged with TATA motors. Ratan Tata (chairman of Tata) claims that they have enormous respect for the two brands and will endeavour to preserve and build on their heritage and competitiveness, keeping their identities intact. Which means they are there to support their growth nothing more! Also they will not rebage their Nano as jaguar or land rover, in simple terms the Nano and the J-LR will NEVER be sold under the same roof and its going to stay that way. There are no plans of shifting the production of J-LR cars to India whatsoever.
People are worried about the J-LR under TATA wings I'm not

I'm not too familiar with the machinations of automotive manufacturing, but does the parent company have a big say in what its other "brands" are doing, or do the underlings get to move independently?
Just a little off topic, how are indian cars comparing to chinese cars, in terms of quality?
A final tidbit: May f1 team na ang india diba?

Regarding Indian F1 Team, yes Indian boss but not really a car made in India. That Current Force India team is just the former Spyker team which was the former Jordan team... So no India has no capacity to make their own F1 car yet, malayo pa yun IMO...
Ah ok. So Wala pa Lang locally released na delicą dito. Pinapakyaw kasi Ng mga outdoor lovers...
