I don't have a crosswind but may I ask, why are you not using TRANSmission oil on your transmission box?

use engine oil for engines. transmission oil for the tranny.

unless otherwise stated sa manual na ang tranny fluid is same as engine oil. yung honda ata ganun

engine oil is a lubricant where as tranny oil is a hydraulic fluid. although tranny oil has "some" lubricating property, but it's not good enough to protect an engine while an engine oil is an extremely good lubricant, but poor as hydraulic fluid.

The principal differences between engine type oils and "extreme pressure" or EP gear oils is the ability to withstand very high contact pressures as seen in car final drives (axles), Gear oils also are designed to cope with very high contact stresses between gear teeth. And a "wet clutch" wont like it... kailangan lang kasi minsan to refer to owner's manual than to refer to hearsays

with respect to the topic, ang manual transmission is actually a non-hydraulic unit. simpleng meshing at sliding lang naman ng synchros at gears. walang control valve, oil pump etc. na kung saan hydraulic fluid (SAE 20 ATF, "oil ten"/SAE 10, Donax, etc.) ang gamitin for faster flow (along with the other qualities of a hydraulic fluid.)

even sa transmission ng mga elf trucks ng isuzu, they recommend the 5W-40 engine oil. imo, isuzu spec'd engine oil for its transmissions ay dahil siguro mas prone sa increased wear and tear ang synchronizers kapag gear oil kesa engine oil. since gear oil is more viscous than engine oil, mas matagal ang flow to where it needs to be, baka hirap ang synchro rings to cut through it (lalu na kung pudpod na yung internal grooves ng synchros).
