The white smoke on the Crosswind is something that has no permanent solution. Change the oil and filters (air/oil/fuel) and it will go away for a while. Don't worry, it's not the only car like that. Mitsubishi 4d56 and Toyota 1HD-T's are also like that since they all belong to relatively the same [ancient] era where emissions standards were less stringent and engines didn't need to talk to a computer to actually do their job.

Yes, the Crosswind is slow as molasses. My friends have Crosswinds (XT manual and XUVi matic both with turbo engines). Both are so slow that when my boss (in his 97 Land Cruiser 1HD-T) and I drove from Subic to Zambales, the Isuzu XUVi I was driving was struggling to keep up all the way while my boss was merely driving in a relaxed mode.

i was again disappointed on my 2010 sportivo. i recently discovered that there were paint peeling off on both sides of the rear doors & the differential is also corroded, to think that it's just a year old. then the accelerator pedal began emitting this squeeking sound just like that of a jeepney!then when i was waiting for my wife from the grocery with the engine on idle, upon shifting to 1st gear i have to floor the gas pedal to move the vehicle. is it beacause of dirt/water accumulating in my fuel filter?

paps Orly, finally, tutoo ang kutob ko... also experienced the same scenario.. my wife is driving our corolla at around 75 - 80 kph daw and i'm driving our crosswind at 55 - 60 kph lang pero we are running side by side nun ah... so most probably na medyo conservative ang seedometer natin???

mejo nakaka relate ako kasi ganun ata takbo ng XUV namin everytime malapit na mag 5k (change oil time!) pero after change oil mejo umaarangkada na ng maganda.

i've seen some post of sir Benz and others na palitan dapat yung mga filters air/fuel/etc. mukang eto yung namimiss ng XUV namin. tuwing nagpapa change oil kasi isang filter lang yung pinapalitan sa shop. kutob ko mula 2002 hindi pa napapalitan yung ibang filter dahil di naman sya casa maintained.

i feel kailangn ko na ito papalitan ASAP before anything bad happens.
anong air & fuel filter ba dapat kong kunin?

Tumpak! A clogged air filter would have adverse effects on air engine intake. A clogged oil and (moreover) fuel filter (since alam na natin na di malinis ang local diesel fuels natin sa Pinas) would have too.

I'd say get the genuine filters by ISUZU. Should there be "alternative brands", that may do so but I wont vouch on it's reliability.

The best way to measure kung accurate ang speedometer mo is to use a watch.

paps I believe my tires are the same size as stock (235x70 r15) for XUVi, kasi nung nagpalit ako, I bought the same brand and size.. I'll try your suggestion in using a watch, thanks

i agree with you sir regarding the sluggish acceleration, mine is a 2010 sportivo m/t. average speed is just around 80kmh & tried to reach 100kmh on the highway pero hindi ko pa tinudo as i have kids onboard.just got it last year & i already posted a lot of complaints to isuzu but anyway i brought it back to the dealer & had everything rectified including replacement of fuel filter which should be done every 15000km.hindi pa nga umabot sa akin, 12954 lng to be exact. but overall performance, i'm still contented with my ride eventhough marami na akong nakitang defects. everytime I have an outing with the whole family sulit din as it can carry both my family & our things.it's engine isn't built for speed anyway, it's built to carry people.
