my radiators cap rubber doesn't look good now

the rubber is a bit brittle now

it is still the original one

it has a 1.1 spec(embossed at the radiator cap)

my question is can i replace it with a 0.9 radiator cap? what will happen if i use that kind of spec?

i've seen a 0.9 at concorde and it is made of stainless steel which i think is better than the rusty old oem radiator cap in terms of the metals durability.

my vehicle is a 01 hilander sl

    sboogie,
toyotas rolling off at nagoya assembly plants come with 0.9 kg/sqcm (12.8 psi, 0.882 bars, 662 mmHg) radiator caps. the 1.1 kg/sqcm is high for your radiator or hoses or the cabin heating core. the 0.9 kg/sqcm is the most recommended for it.

    moejun,
i apologize, highlander in the u.s. is toyota. anyway, isuzu uses the same cap as most of asian cars(japanese and korean cars).
