hehe, the 500 was priced 12 years ago, so it maybe the price back then, but now, it should be close to 4K +.

Normally, on a very steep incline (think about the last 7 kms of kennon road going to baguio where the hairpin curves and steep angles abound), 1st gear po talaga tayo dun. Although kaya naman akyatin ng hilander natin yng ganun angle, I prefer to do it aircon off so the vehicle can have all the power it needs.

Happy New Year and Safe Driving to All !!!

Good luck din sa return-to-manila traffic

    To my fellow hilander owners,

your inputs are greatly appreciated on this matter.

This coming Jan 2015 (towards the end of the month, God-willing), I will have my 4ja1 overhauled (I have posted somewhere here in this thread or elsewhere in the site the reason for the conking out of the engine). Would it be advisable to install a low boost turbo like the one used in the 4ja1T (crosswind) or go level up using the turbo in the 4JB1T (isuzu fuego pickup) or the trooper (forgot the engine model)? I'm not going to race the vehicle. I just need a little more grunt in overtaking. Also, need advise on upgrading the brake system esp the rear drum if I'm going to take the level up route.

Vehicle is a 97 hilander SL BTW.

    TIA again

Ayun, di ko naisip patayin ang AC during those time na paakyat na.. though medyo mataas talaga ang pinuntahan ko at kinaya naman nang sasakyan yung palaging first gear during climb. Cguro kung naka turbo. mas hinde nahihirapan makina, kasi yung air pressure sa taas medyo manipis na rin, so turbo on this scenario really helps, yung pinuntahan ko kasi, yung yung isa sa highest starting point ng mga Mountain climbers patungong Mt. Apo... (never been to baguio so cant compare the route)

    Happy New Year!!

Wow !!! Lakas ng buelo nyo sir para maiakyat yng XTRM on 3rd gear !!! Cencya na, yan lang yng na experience ko na mataas na incline na pwedeng maka relate ang karamihan . Worst than that incline would be yung sa Tagaytay Highlands (that part going up to the guardhouse gate sa palace in the sky entrance.)

check this post, i am not sure though if there is a detailed electrical diagram since we dont have much electronic on board, so mostly its representation of where the device is located.
