    CONGRATULATIONS! (in advance)

Well, changing tires isn't just that simple. You would need to calculate the width of the tire, flat rate (series) and tire diameter (rim size) to determine what's a good alternative to stock size (245/70R16)

I have seeing many of my friends who has a D-Max upgrade their tire size to 265/70R16. This would be a good compromise in terms of:

    • Tire price
    • Added weight
    • Better looks (more "body")
    • Fuel Efficiency

Anything bigger than that tire measurement would definitely have an impact in weight (>> acceleration and fuel efficiency)

Hi sir, I changed my D-Max's tires to 265/70/R16 (Bridgestone Dueler H/T) and there's no change in FC and ride comfort and of course it looks better than stock (taller and with the white text on the sidewalls).

+1 to this observation. Note that the aforementioned tire size is the same as used for D-Max Boondock Editions.

the bigger the rubber your going to install on your ride the ride comfort and fuel efficeincy will sure follow to drop.... 265/70 is still the best upgrade size for a stock rim with very minimal change in ride comfort and fuel efficiency.... then again, if you are looking for that extra pogi points... you could change your rims wiht aftermarket rims that are wider and put on a 265/70 tire... macho look...

You be careful thou coz the fact na di staggered ang rim size mo, the front and rear would not only look different but you must confirm if the stock rear rim can accomodate a 285 width tire.

In addition, there is a setback of having staggered tire sizes (front to rear) for you cannot rotate the tires due to its size difference.

Would it also affect cornering due to the fact that the dmax is not designed like a sports car where the rear tires are usually a bit taller and definitely wider?

yup sir benz..papatignan ko pa if kaya ng size 285 ung stock rims. sana pwede, gusto ko lang talaga mas magmukhang malaki or malapad ung likod. i already considered na ung risk na hindi na pwede sa rotation from rear to front.
