Hi topper! The '07 D-max and Fuego are definitely worlds apart so there really is no comparison. However, I do understand where your coming from. You want good old fashioned reliability from an Isuzu hence the battle proven Fuego but I would like to encourage you to do research here at the forums to learn more from the advantages of "electronics" engines especially the crdi of the '07 because I believe it will greatly benefit your needs in the long run

Are there any particular problems or conceptions about electronics that you would like to share with us? Maybe we can help you out

If your intention in buying a fuego or dmax involves a little bit of off road use. I would choose 2001 - 2003 fuego. dmax LT has the same engine with the fuego. 4ja1 2.5 Naturally Aspirated. Also fuego has a good suspension compared to dmax LT. For the fuego its Independent Wish Bone Arm, Torsion Bar Spring w/Stabilizer Bar. while dmax LT is only Independent Double Wishbone with Coil Spring and Stabilizer Bar. And fuego steering wheel is much better than the dmax LT. Fuego has a Recirculating Ball and Nut w/ Power Assist. while dmax LT Rack and Pinion; Collapsible Steering Column. 2003 fuego much better its enjine is a 4JB1 - Turbo Diesel 2.8 turbo.

    Sir,
my concern was is the high probability of maintenance cost in terms of sensors and electronic parts hence it may affect also the usability of the pick up. i currently have '97 highlander and no doubt it is reliable but when i ask service tech of isuzu they told me that it's quite high on the maintenance specially for CRDi since electronics rule them. hope you could help me decide. the call is between '07 Dmax LT or 03 Fuego
