    I have an Isuzu Fuego at first was just stalling and having a hard time restarting the engine. I was able to take the pickup home but now the engine doesn't start up. Some mechanics that tried to diagnose the problem claims that its the injection pump. My relative is saying that it might be the engine already.

    Does anyone here know of any diesel mechanic willing to service/diagnose my vehicle at home. I reside in Moonwalk in Paranaque.

    na check mo na ba glow plugs?
    mag start ka muna dun, may redondo ba?

    battery...

    ignition...

    troubleshooting 101 muna

    para ma eliminate natin ibang factors at malaman natin ang cause.

    glow plugs are because the engine is already running before it stalls, after that comes the hard starting part. after restarting the engine, I would go a few kilometers before it stalls again.

    battery is ok. meron siya redondo.

    ignition problem once engine stalls. I have already bled the fuel line. Problem ko ngayon, hindi ko na siya ma start.

    Any tips on checking power on the injection pump? All fuses kasi are ok. I have the 4ja1 engine. According to the wheeler's club mechanic walang power daw yun injection pump.

    My dilemma is baka may tama na yun makina, piston ring, sleeve etc.

    Gusto ko sana pa check sa diesel mechanic. So I know my next step, to have it towed to a calibration center or talyer pag engine problem talaga.

    Meron ba may kilala dito na nag home service?

    ang alam ko po walang glow plugs yan... ang 4J series la na po yan...

    basta ako bukas ako sasagot sa diagnosis na yan

    check mo yung shut off sa injection pump. it might not be opening, may wire there it may be corroded or may tama.

    check mo yung magnetic valve(not sure sa name pero may magnetic sa simula) ng fuel pump yung sa hyundai grace namin ayaw magstart pero may redondo tapos yun pala ang sira. hindi ko lang alam kung meron din magnetic valve ang fuel pump ng isuzu engines. hth!

    pag symtoms ehh malakas ang normal idle pagka nas start, tapus pabagobago andar atsaka madals ibakulay usok, parang hilaw malamang dibumabalik mechnism dun sa injector..hehe..antayin natin mga doc dito hehe..>>

    gandang topic nanaman ito san post na si isuzu doc (buknoy2003xuvi).

    sa akin dati experience ko nagwarm up ako ng makina papasok ako ng opis ng papaalis na ko bigla namatay makina then di na mag start pero malakas redondo so check ko lang un fuse 1 fuse busted yun yata yun papunta sa makina so change ko lang ok na. check mo continuity sometimes para syang ok pa fuse pero busted na pala.......

    meron ba ECU ang 4ja1? I'm planning to test the injection pump by directly connecting it to the battery. I haven't really examined the injection pump, is it just a power wire or are there also wires for sensors output?

    wala po ECU yan... ang meron lang po dito sa atin ay 4JX at 4JH

    pag sa umaga po ba ayaw mag start....
    ayaw magturn over ??

    Sir,

    Pagkatapos ng huling stall, hindi na siya nag start ulit. Ayon sa Wheeler's Club mechanic, wala daw power sa ignition coil. Initial checking ko ng fuse ok naman. Saturday ko pa plano mag test ng power to the coil. In total mga 6 stalls nangyari sa akin... Saturday 5:15am normal starting, 10 kms from home 1st stall... 1km... 2nd stall... 500 meters... 3rd stall... 500 meters... 4th stall... 5 kms... 5th stall... 5 kms no stall returned home... stopped engine, I thought everything was already ok... After breakfast, I was still able to start engine normally and fix parking of pickup... Sunday, thinking that it was just an air bubble problem, I travelled again... stalled engine within 1 km from home, was able to restart twice but only travelled 10 meters... thats when I decided to call the towing company.

    Anyway sir.. pacheck mo muna nag power coil mo tapos... kung kaya i bleed mo ulit ang fuel line mo... k

    kasi basi dito.. maaring sa fuel line..

    Please check your STARTER and the relay switch

    where do I locate the ignition coil on a diesel engine? I'll also check the fuel filter. How is the path of the fuel to the engine, fuel tank -> manual pump -> fuel filter -> injection pump -> engine... ?

    hmmm.... happened to me before sa pick-up ko. i have some of the the same symptoms. try mo to leave the engine on idle, if namamatay after a while. also there will be times na ok siya then mamatay. but if you pump it mag stastart ba? my problem was the injection pup bushing sa front ng injection pump after the gear. they just changed the bushings and voila never happened to me again. or your could be the springs inside the injection pump putol na, have seen a lot of this happened on the 4jai engines but the symptoms are no power above 3000rpm, may hesitation, try mo to pa check for air leaks injection pump mo if the so called ignition coil (mayroon ba diesel ignition coil) is not the culprit.

    naputol din and isang govenor spring ng 4x4 fuego ng asawa ko. this was a few months ago. the problem was that the engine would not idle and just die. kailangan parating nakatapak sa gas. mechanics in pasay recommended to calibrate the injection pump. when the injection pump was opened. nakita na putol ang isang spring.

    hay... may hangin na naman sa fuel line nakakatamad nang hanapin. So far hindi naman ako namamatayan medyo makalog lang dahil sa pagbaba ng menor. Adjust ko na lang sa yung RPM knob sa dashboard.

    bro, i noticed that too. before opening the injection pump. i was bleeding the metal lines from the injection pump to the injectors. hindi mawala ang hangin. i was bleeding it 45 min at a time. finally had the injection pump opened. after the injection pump was repaired. it only took them less than 3 mins to bleed. then ok na sya. i suspect that putol din and govenor spring mo. the effect of not repairing the govenor spring is masisira and rotor head ng injection pump mo. i spend 6k for a surplus rotor head. total na gastos ko para sa calibration+ rotor head 10k

    Tama ang diagnosis ni ARB.
    Pag maluwag na yung bushing sa harap the pump side of the IP tends to suck air or oil instead of fuel from the filter/tank.
    That is the reason erratic ang idling. This will be evident during morning starts since fuel goes back to source because of gravity.
    In some instances low compression is the reason for hard starting since walang glow plug at direct injection siya, only the ideal compression can fire the injected fuel.
