I am thinking of buying a crosswind 2nd hand. Among the different models, which one is the best value in terms of accessories, ride, performance, fuel consumption etc. Yung mga add ons sa XUV and XUVi, are they worth it? Will welcome comments with all crosswind variants: XT, XTO, XTRM, XUV, XUVi. Thanks!!

Actually, the office will pay for it but need to justify higher models instead of the basic XT. 2nd hand lang dahil sa economic conditions natin ngayon, kailangan justifiable ang mga gastos. Budget? Di ba depending on year and model type, it can go from 600-800K?

meron kami dito sa office, XUV auto-tranny... unit ng daughter ng boss ko. less than a year old yata.

going back to the question... between XTO and XTRM, XUV, ... i'd say i'll go for the XTO. not because I'm biased but because mas mura maintenance in the long run. mas maliit gulong ng XTO - hence cheaper tyres to replace, sleeker, less abubot (no body claddings that will get damaged etc pag nabangga, simpler repainting job.) , less body roll on cornering at high speeds ... yun e based sa sinabi mo na office vehicle yan. mas malaki chance na ma-approve kung XTO. fuel consumption and performance, halos pareho lang yan... pero wag naman XT, okey din kasi yung power amenities ng XTO (power windows, side mirrors, door locks, rear wiper - very useful during rainy season). pero kung payag sila na XUVi --- XUVi ka na .... yung lang, it'll be quite hard to justify why you need the other amenities like karaoeke system, VCD system etc. unless sabihin mo na kailangang mo ng onboard entertainment for your guest during driving hehehehe :D

thanks rsnald. nakasakay na ako sa xto. medyo maalbog ang ride compared to the highlander series, tama ba ang observation ko? How about xtrm? lift up without the karaoke features? would the xtrm or xuv ride be stiffer or same as the xto? yung xto uses a 65 series tire. can we fit it with 70 series and will this improve the ride, thicker side wall thus better shock absorption by the tires?

    - cant answer this. matagal nako di nakasakay ng orig hilander series. most of the time passenger lang ako sa hilander.
si master boknoyXTRMXUVi makakasagot nyan. his handle says it all... he has both an XTRM (d orig XTRM hilander) and the new XUVi

    - I think one of our fellow forumer uses 70 series -- si dieselNUbi yata... si master xwind yan ang plano nya or baka nagawa na nya
-install a 70 series tyre on his XTO

Go for XL, XT, XTO kasi ang gulo nila is small there FGR is 4.1 while the FGR nang XTRM pataas eh nasa 4.3 same as the Trooper.

Pero still it is up to u.. notice I don't recommend any.. kasi nasa sa iyo yun I gave only the facts and figures... pero it is up to u.

nakabili na ako ng xto manual 01 model. Ok naman, maalaga ang may ari. Tanong ko lang, is it normal for the engine operating temperature at 1/2 level? Kasi yung fuego ko with the same engine is at 1/3 level lang.

49+Kms, casa maintained every 5K, naka change oil na nga when I got it kasi sked na siya for renewal, tapos na rin ang emission test. Yun lang nga, I have to spend for the insurance, plus kalbo na ang orig yoko tires niya. Xwind, nakita ko yung pics ng ride mo with the new 215/70 tires. Ano yung specific tire na kinabit mo? I looked at both dunlop 501 and the sp70, yung sp70 4 ply, ang 501 mas radical ang tread pattern niya at mas mahal. Better if all 4 tires are the same di ba?

We also just got recently an '02 XTO a/t with 35K on the odo. Tiga-Alabang Hills yung owner and complete records niya and maganda pa yung condition (no bumps or scratches but i had some small door dings).

First impression was that it needs a heavy foot to get a-goin from stop due to its being a diesel matic but its happy running at speeds of 80-100kph. I find the handling on the low side though due to the excess of body roll and understeer when i compare it to my pick-up (maybe wider tires and gas shocks will help increase the stability and cornering capabilities a bit). I also wish it had cup holders... :P

The orig Yok tires are still good but we plan to change it in a few months to 215/65 or 205/70 R15 tires (Probably put Dunlop LeMans RV or LM702s).

I've also added new headlight bulbs (90/100W) with relays... gotta change the tint though (pag may budget).

so tama nga kwento yung nasakyan kong megataxi nung umuwi ako last month...sabi nila they can outrun a manual tranny XUVi w/ their crosswind XT's kahit daw may 2 pa silang extrang pasahero kumpara don sa XUVi to compensate for the weight of the claddings and other accessories....hehehee

so napaisip tuloy ako...how about the A/T variant? will the case be the same??

sana me makatulong....sori po ala lang magawa ngayon...hehehee for the benefit na rin nang mga me crosswind dito...hehehe
