My question to those who have alternator problems is what is wrong with your old alternator? From my experience, alternators can be repaired. Three basic problems cause charging failures one is bearing, second is oil seals and third is IC. Actually there is a fourth but its only negligence and that is the drive belts.

For what you know what your buying whether recon or "brand new replacement" comes from old alternators that are cleaned, reconditioned, transplanted, rewind.
    Lets learn to be practical.
But I can also be wrong!

So let me clear this most of the advise is to go for bigger alternator maski na hindi for isuzu?

The shafting of the rotor has a canal. That is where the old oil seal hugs the shaft. Ask the repairer to position the oil seal before the ridge or after so that it will enable the seal to stop the oil from going in the the carbon brush.

On your second question. I would stick to OEM rated alternator. Its lighter load for the engine. You will retain original brackets. Your alternator belt will last longer.

    What is your vehicle again?

Anung klaseng iszu nga pala auto mo sir? I have a hi-lander pero alternator pang nissan patrol 90amps, ok naman you might wanna try that if 4ja1 ang engine mo rin.. just have the pulley from your orig alternator transplanted to new one. Plus a bracket if di fit. 4 years and still no problem...

I had a 92 TFR, are you sure its not the water separator warning that is lighting. Magkasama kasi palagi ang water separator and charge warning.

good day mga tsikoteers, just want to recommend a good shop for alternators. siguro some of you alam na rin ito. try nyo rey electrical along east service road in paranaque (if you're from bicutan going to C5, nasa right side sya). di ko alam kung may nakapaapagawa na sa inyo dyan or may bad experience, but for my experience they're good. had mine repaired almost 2 years ago na for my 4JA1 and until now ok pa naman, no problem what so ever. they're also selling most kinds of alternators and starters for common models.
