The MUX is my third vehicle purchased brandnew, and the two previous ones were casa serviced only up to their 20K PMS. After that I personally did the following: change oil, fuel filter, brake cleaning. I have the necessary tools and equipment available at home. The other services I'm not confident of doing I brought the cars to the particular shop that was good in that particular service. I never encountered any problem with my DIY serviced vehicles and even after I sold them.

After seeing my MUX serviced at the casa, I knew I could do better, although it was the five hour waiting time that pissed me off (5 hours of wait, actual service was less than 30 minutes). So my question is, is there any chance that some manufacturing defect still lie undetected when your MUX has passed the 5K km odometer reading? Would self maintenance be advisable for such a complex vehicle? My previous cars were an i10 and an Mitsu. Adventure so they were technologically simpler than my current ride.

Never heard of any 4JK1-TC or 4JJ1-TC getting problematic early in its life. So I guess ok na yan. Yun lang, in case you will be claiming for warranty for other things like electrical, suspension or body, they might not cover it since you opted to not have it serviced at an authorized dealer.

There are pros and cons, but knowing basic maintenance and doing it yourself is definitely better than dealer mechanic work.

I'm currently at 32,000kms and noticed paint bubbles on my left rear door. Dealer said epoxy daw or natuluan ng paint. I used a magnifying glass and it is definitely not epoxy or what not. But since I am a valued customer, they will "consider" it na daw. Honestly after 35,000km PMS, I will also get my car serviced outside. There are other shops offering lower priced oil and PMS parts - Jayson and Walco. And other shops that will not let you wait 5 hours. I also don't have to pay for labor worth 1800-3200.

Btw, I usually have my service scheduled at Isuzu Pasig set at 7am. They finish 5000 and 10000 service by 930-10am. 20,000 service they did it for 5 hours. I can't complain, the lounge is comfortable, there's brewed coffee, and they give a food stub while you wait. ;)

same also sir happy din sa 3.0 sound at ung interior lang naman yung concern namin but sa power, engine response at fc very satisfied kami hindi kaya maubos ung 5k fuel allowance per month

Haven't computed it but according to the MID of my 3.0 it says 8.8km/l and that is pure city driving and my unit haven't reach 1k km. It would travel 400kms in one full tank with 1/4 remaining which not bad for a 3.0

Saw this also s mias and type ko ung rear bumper, 11k. Ung s front nman eh 14,500 and 18k ata kung my drl kaya lng kako baka masira ung looks nya . Last item n ksama s package eh ung s roof rack, sinilip ko and mahirap ata linisin ung roof pag meron ganon.

Maybe he was stating the price of the parts individually while I got the price of the whole kit =)
there is two types of shark body kit for the MU-x ; Luxury series and Rugged series and almost have the same price

What is your rpm reading at 120kph mine is around 1,800rpm
I remember reading an article about the Mux with a manual transmission's engine speed at 100kph is 2,600rpm
how come my 3.0 mux has a lower engine speed?

mine is also 3.0

1800rpm = 100kph
2000rpm = 120kph

100kph on a manual MUX is 2100rpm ;)

120kph is 2500rpm.

Final gear or gearing plays a big factor. Magkaiba ang gear ratios ng automatic and manual transmission.
