Sirs,
Wala na ba pag-asa pasok bagong D-max sa atin? If so, good alternative ba ang colorado?
Yes chief, especially the Colorado 2.8 Duramax....Comes with the RA428 engine (180 hp, 470 Nm at 2000 rpm) from VM Motori Italy (a subsidiary of General Motors). Or, arguably the best is the Ford Ranger 3.2 TDCi Duratorq. Comes with a super-smooth straight 5-inline cylinder engine (200 hp, 470 Nm torque starting at 1500 rpm).
Watch also for the near future arrival of the newly-spec'd Toyota Hilux 3.0 D-4D (171 hp, 360 Nm torque beginning 1400 rpm). Or, yet again, the Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 TDi twin-turbo (180 hp, 420 Nm at 1750 rpm) if the Ayala Group would bring it in when Volkswagen will open sometime next year for the 2nd-time romance with Pinoys.
There is and will always be a lot of pickup choices coming to Philippines. But those ones available right now are the all-new Chevy Colorado and the all-new Ford Ranger 3.2-litre can be had on special order from Ford Philippines at the moment. Sooner, it will be available in mass commercial distribution most likely next year. But you can see some plying now in the Philippine roads ;)
Cheers!
Disappointing news:
Hay tagal pa pala, baka hilux na lang bilhin ko.

Philippines gets new D-Max, trucks next year
JAPANESE CAR MAKER Isuzu Philippines Corp. plans to launch new models of its pick-up and trucks next year, a senior company official said over the weekend.
Arthur A. Balmadrid, Isuzu Philippines vice-president for the Corporate Business Division, said in a telephone interview that the new “D-Max pick-up, which was already launched in Thailand, will also be released in the Philippines but late next year because demand in Thailand is still high and they still have a backlog.”
syang naman for sure the arival of the new d max should make a bigger difference on the market of pick up's, it should make the customer's to be wow for waiting for it if not well other pick up's out on the market is already good...
All-new Isuzu D-Max could arrive in PH 4th quarter of this year - News | TopGear.com.phAll-new Isuzu D-Max could arrive in PH 4th quarter of this year
By Vernon B. Sarne — 14 Jan 2013
The all-new Isuzu D-Max has been available in Thailand since October 2011, and yet we here in the Philippines still haven't had a glimpse of its shadow. And we probably won't until the end of this year, if the calculations of a high-ranking Isuzu Philippines Corporation executive are correct.
IPC senior vice president Arthur Balmadrid told TopGear.com.ph over the weekend that our market would likely get the all-new version of the best-selling pickup in the fourth quarter of the year. "The new D-Max will probably arrive around October this year," said Balmadrid.
The Isuzu executive cited two reasons as to why they still haven't launched the all-new D-Max. First is that the demand for this pickup remains very robust in Thailand, the pickup capital of Asia. Second is that, because of this strong demand in Thailand, the first wave of D-Max production has been completely dedicated to right-hand-drive units. As a result, RHD markets like Australia are getting the new pickup ahead of us.
Balmadrid also revealed that IPC would be able to price the new D-Max more competitively than its twin model, the Chevrolet Colorado, by virtue of having a much bigger sales volume.
Now, the current Philippine-market D-Max is being assembled at IPC's manufacturing facility in Biñan, Laguna. Where will the new-generation model be made?
"We are really hoping that we will still be able to assemble the new D-Max here," shared Balmadrid. "That will depend on whether the government extends tax breaks to Philippine-assembled vehicles, and there's a good chance of that happening."
At present, it is now cheaper to import completely built-up (CBU) units than to assemble vehicles in the country, due in large part to tax exemptions afforded by free-trade agreements between the Philippines and our ASEAN neighbors. If the government doesn't level the playing field for those who have manufacturing plants here, Balmadrid said these automakers could be left with no choice but to just bring in CBU units.
The Philippine auto industry is proposing to government that local contents used in the manufacture of vehicles no longer be levied an excise tax, which should significantly lower their prices.
Let's cross our fingers, then, that Malacañang will approve and that the all-new D-Max will still be assembled in Laguna.
Some news
You're talking at least 9 months down the road. May katagalan pa. Those who are in the market now for pickups prolly will look for other brands. Pero kung die hard fan ka nila then kaya kang maghintay.
Chief GTi,
DNF sa 2013 Dakar Rally si RT-50 ni Bruce Garland at Harry Suzuki. Stage 12 yata pulled-out na sila ayayay....
Buti pa ang "hood-scoop" D-max ng rookie 1st-timer na gamit ng Aussie countryman nila nakatapos sa buong 14 stages hehe, at 39th overall yata. Ang gamit nila.... Ang dating D-max na ginamit din nila Bruce at Harry noong 2009, yup, the one that got them the 1st place diesel UTE recognition hehe....
Cheers!
Grabe mga highly-tuned V8 gasoline version ng Toyota Hilux sa 2013 Dakar Rally! Halos pinakiyaw Top 10 standing hehe....
Toyota 4.6-litre V8 petrol engine - 350 hp, 540 Nm torque
Saw this on youtube...

This is a Left Hand Drive... Tagal naman dumating ng bagong DMAX.
The only D-max that crossed the finish line and completed all gruelling 14 stages of the 2013 Dakar Rally - the legendary "hood-scoopy" 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo. ....(Bruce Garland and Harry Suzuki's much-hyped all-new D-max bailed out by Stage 12 due to tainted fuel, according to reports.)
Piloted by Dakar rookies Adrian DiLallo and Steve Riley, both of whom are dairy farmers back home in Oz, the duo and their Garland-tuned previous-generation D-max proved to be tough as nails hehe. According to them, this very D-max didn't miss a beat
Much like the scenario in 2009 when Bruce Garland and Harry Suzuki rolled this very D-max into the podium after winning the 1st Diesel UTE (utility pickup) to complete the race ....This particular model would have been a hit in Philippines for sure had it landed....
It was THE BEST D-max ever that we Pinoys never got!!!!
....And WHAT A SHAME Isuzu Philippines!

So they used the EXACT SAME D-Max that finished the 2009 Dakar?! The lone fact that they used an old, abused car is a commendable feat!
If the new D-Max was subjected to tainted fuel... Shouldn't it be that the old D-Max was subjected to the same fuel... and survived?
YUP chief, it was the very same previous-gen "hood scoop" D-max that in year 2009 it received only some minimum tweaking of the engine that enabled it to put out 500 Nm torque, plus with most components as standard OEMs used during their (Bruce Garland and Harry Suzuki) maiden Dakar Rally voyage, according to Garland in a statement that year.
In 2010, it received another update where up until 2011, it was producing almost 250 horses with 630 Nm torque. 2012 was a leave by Isuzu Motorsports from the Dakar Rally and Bruce was recuperating from his heart bypass surgey and broken back he suffered during the 2011 event, when this same D-max landed heavily into a sand pit after a sudden fall from the dunes that both riders miscalculated at the exit.
The 2013 all-new D-max, it also Garland-Racing tuned, is up to those power figures at 250 horses if you observe those numbers mentioned earlier, plus some more hardware modifications than the previous generation D-max.
Sayang at di man lang naibigay si "hood-scoop" sa atin at parating na si Chinese mongrel D-max na di ko alam kung mix ng Chevrolet Colorado, Great Wall pickup at Toyota Hilux sa windows, rear at side-view naman....
....Isuzu should not have gotten away from its original boxy-shape style, the very reason why i like the looks of the Philippine- and "hood-scoop" D-max. DANG! What is this all-new D-max that we're getting!!
Just went from my local dealer and the manager told me that 2013 model will be released march 2014 pa... Please clarify this po... Thanks...
