March 10th, 2008 07:52 PM #1Is the new 2008 isuzu Alterra really that good? Is it comfortable to ride? Is the suspention that good compared to the toyota fortuner? Thus it get the edge over the Toyota fortuner? Give me reasons why i will choose isuzu alterra 4x2 a/t than the toyota fortuner 3.0. Thanks!

Bro toyota fortuner 3.0 V is 4x4 unlike the alterra (4x2)
may rumor na alterras engine has the same problem with the 3.0 4jx1 isuzu trooper engine .. may nagsabi nga na actor na si DENNIS TRILLO tumirik ang alterra nya na brand new .. (sabi ng driver ni becky aguila angel locsin's manager)
mas comfortable ang alterra than fortuner kasi mas mahaba ang wheelbase ng alterra unlike sa shorter wheelbase ng fortuner .. pero fortuners tire is much wider ( 265/70r16) unlike alterras 245/70r16 .. ako ill go for the fortuner simply bcoz it is a toyota ! no problem sa parts and accesories ..

kakatawa sagot mo ah
hindi mo yata nabanggit yung choking problem ng D4D engine at yung sobrang tagtag ng Fortuner
may 4x2 at 4x4 Alterra, very comfy, powerful/reliable CRDI engine, better FC (mas matipid pa kesa crosswind), mas panalo ang interior ng Alterra (for me ha), better entertainment system in short exterior lang panalo ng Fortuner
so far wala pang reklamo regarding sa engine ng Alterra/Dmax
blackrose search mo yung post ng isang tsikoteer na may Fortuner at Alterra halos ayaw na niyang gamitin yung Fortuner niya dahil sa tagtag.

The ride of the Alterra under the 'Flex-Ride' suspension is very good compared to the Fortuner. Even I was surprised by the softness when I was able to ride at the backseat as we trekked going to some mountainous parts of our province.
For me, there's very little to ponder about in terms of tire size for both because I was able to ride front seat in a Fort that sported 275/75 dunlops which hardly made any difference to cushion the ride.
Toyota has always been considered as a reliable brand just as equally Isuzu is known for their bulletproof engines -except of course for that Trooper problem- but other than that, reliable still.
It would be better though that if we should declare that there are problems for a particular make/brand we should make an earnest effort to quantify, be more specific so that we can all be accurately informed.

Seriously, like others have mentioned, exterior at lakas ng makina lang talaga laban ng Fortuner.
Alterra kasi as I've noticed eh hirap na lumampas ng 120km/hr (parang sa Crosswind din) at naiiwanan talaga, pero looking back in Manila: ay, oo nga pala, rare cases lang naman na makakadrive ka at that speed considering traffic. Haha!
The torquey-feeling that personally has become the insignia of Isuzu's engine is pretty reliable whenever you need it. Ride comfort, interior feel, and entertainment amenities is two-thumbs up for me. Who cares about the "Toyota eh"? Quality, reliability, comfort, and well-reasonable pricing (which Toyota is pretty much lacking these days really) is what counts IMHO.

March 11th, 2008 05:02 AM #10120kph? hirap na? bakit?
I have driven my friends Alterra from Bicutan going to Alabang. From Bicutan exit going to Alabang my max speed already reaching near 170kph for automatic transmission. Sayang at bitin ang daan may ibubuga pa sana...
Kung crosswind iyan, yup, under power nga ang crosswind. pero ang importante ngayon ay fuel efficient sa taas ng presyo ngayon ng diesel.
agree, pagpinatagal yong decals as in may shadow . as much as possible paalis agad lalo na 1 week...
