wat type of paint po pwedeng gamitin if i wnt to paint my dashboard ng red such as this one?pwede ba ung spray paint na nabibili sa hardwares?o yung pintura talaga?my steering wheel, shift knob, pedals and handbreaks are all detailed with red na kasi so i guess mas ok rin siguro if ill paint my dashboard with red na rin..oto ko po is lancer '97 GL with black dashboard..i need your advices mga bosing..tnx!=)
sure!bakit hinde?!ngcocollect pa ko actually ng mga advices sa mga auto gurus natin from tsikot.com..ill just post my finished product as soon as m done.=)
Tama po. Better get a genuine pintor who professionally knows how to make the paint stick to those surfaces.
I think the trick here is to properly sandpaper the surfaces you are to paint so that it can cling on well.
I do have a few suggestions on what not to paint:
* Surfaces that are regularly handled or touch like the shiftknob, handbrake lever and the like since, no matter how good your coat is, the paint will eventually fade.
* Aircon vents. They will become a bit tricky to get an even coat which may result in paint drips or runs. Stock black looks better contrast anyway.
* Dashboard top. Ever noticed that black is best for dashboard tops? Thats because it does not reflect sunlight and project a bright glare on your inner windsheild.
you have a point po.thanks a lot ser!hindi na baleng mahal as long as it is quality and will lasts long dba?!panibagong canvass na naman to for sure..pero would it be wiser if summer ko na lang pagawa po ksi syempre e mas mainit and mas matutuyo properly then this month where maginaw tas konting init lang naeexperience namin dito sa place namin..
it's a special type of paint that is actually more like a dye. the vinyl also has to be prepped a certain way because it's more porous and textured. better leave this job to a professional interior shop.
my opinions lang po mga sir...just correct me if i am wrong...
if one would look closely at the pics, the only ones that are painted are he plastic trims, not the vinyl surface. for this, you can actually disassemble the said parts and prep them properly...sand(maybe wet sanding), wash/clean thoroughly, dry, apply some plastic primer(w/c is available in our local hardwares), then thin coats of paint...and maybe some layers of clear coat. let dry for a couple of hours or so...maybe half a day outside but free from dust or other contaminants that may affect the final finish. then install back into the car.
very important ung prepping nung surfaces...especially the plastic primer for the paint to stick to it.
