October 29th, 2010 01:46 PM #36The issue of "tropicalized" is a mere marketing gimmick lang po... I have been in korea and even there it gets hotter during summer way hotter than in Philippines. If the "tropicalized" item is true then the south koreans cease to use most of their cars during summer.
Also, the Hyundai car maker should develop a special production line for cars produced as tropicalized daw for Philippines. In this sense napakalaking cost involve nun considering na napaka liit ng quantity ng order sa pinas in a global scale.
The reason why there is a long queue today sa Tucson IX is that the Hyundai seems to snub orders from pinas dahil abala sa kanila gawin. Specs have to be lowered down kasi para sa pinas. Unlike orders coming from Europe, Russia, Australia, etc na out of the factory ng Korea na and nde abala sa kanila... but you cannot blame HARI too dahil they must earn also otherwise nde na feasible ang business for them.
Go with the gray market, I too regret too much on getting earlier the Tucson IX sana naghintay ako sa units ng Standout. Starex from Standout also is cheaper I guess than sa high end variant ng HARI. Ang daming added features pa like the sunroof, etc.

October 29th, 2010 01:53 PM #37Natanong ko na to dun sa kabilang thread..KDM vs. PHDM units. Why do bother to change specs ng engine (detune) where in fact we have same diesel specification in Korea?
Para not OT..My vote go for the Gray..much better specs.

GPS Navi
Seat Cooler
Super Vision Gauges (LED Backlit)
Chrome interior accents
Yan yung mga standard features ng KDM na wala sa PHDM. Pero meron pa dinagdag ang Pit Stop Motors..
Different set of 18" wheels (OEM)
Sports Pedal (OEM)
LED Door Plates (OEM)
Black fog lights garnish (OEM)

Syempre. Welcome to the Philippines. Kahit yung ibang Euro Cars dito stripped down din ang features. Kaya uso rin ang grey market na Euro cars..

For the specs, definitely the gray market units. Pitstop's 5 year warranty matches HARI's warranty.
For service though, I would think if Pitstop (or gray market dealer) is usually in your route, then go for gray. I just don't know what your alternatives (so that your warranty's intact) are in case you can't make it to Pitstop due to geographic constraints.
Somewhat expected from a rushed car from a first time carmaker
