Sir Larry, did you try? I noticed in one of the threads you were curious as well.

Anyone here who have tried already?

Here are the discussion threads that I've been back-reading:

Yup, did try it when I still have the SF3. It actually reduces the soot found in the exhaust tip which is very noticeable when I wasn't adding 2T oil. But that was a short test as I eventually sold my SF3. You can try and test it to a diesel car that is spewing black smoke. But if your car is not spewing black smoke then there's really no point in using it, I guess.

For 1,000 KMS/ 1st month PMS: is it mandatory to have the oil changed already? From previous experience kasi with our ford vehicles, only calibration and tightening of bolts, etc lang ang needed. And it's just usually free.

But I read here somewhere that dealerships change the oil already during the first month checkup (and therefore, not free).

    Thanks in advanced!

Yes, it is normal first oil change once you reach 1000km. The idea is similar to breaking in components, in this case your engines moving components will seat or settle properly, ergo small particles of metal shaving will be left in the oil.

While it's the rainy season already with the occasional heavy downpour, I haven't seen any more complaints here about the SF3 leak issue. I hope Hyundai has rectified the defect, albeit no formal public announcement made.

Is it just me or most unit nowadays dont have the stickers from the left rear side portion indicating their Port of Origin? Usually there was this white barcode sticker indicating HARI Batangas. When I picked up our unit last week there was none. Does this mean they are originating somewhere else?

I dropped by Hyundai North EDSA yesterday Sir and saw their for-release units having the sticker. When I got my unit it also had the sticker and at the bottom it said "The label is used for assembly process. Please remove it before delivery."

Hindi kaya tinanggal lang talaga yung sa'yo para hindi masabihan na "not following instructions"?

Use "Santa Fe Club of the Philippines" when joining in FB. You can also join here http://www.santafeclubph.com/forums/ where you can learn a lot about SF3 and other previous models of SF. Send ka PM, here, to imperialv if you want to join the latter.

The lock/unlock button of the outside door handle on the driver's side of my SF has stopped working. The one on the passenger side is working fine. I'm bringing it to the dealer tomorrow.

Anyone else experienced the same issue?

I haven't read or heard of similar problems Sir. Hopefully it's a simple fix.

Meanwhile, here are some observations I have on my unit. I'll have the following addressed during my 1K PMS probably next week.

    1. Front passenger headrest is more tilted downward compared to the driver's headrest. Not sure if this is standard.
    2. One missing rubber bumper under the hood. This should be easy and inexpensive to replace but I'll have them deal with it nonetheless.
    3. Sometimes, extra force is needed when shifting from P to R. I notice this when parking on sloping terrain. Could be caused by the brakes still bedding in maybe?

Not a sta fe owner. With regards to question 3, nabasa ko sa manual ng car namin na pag nasa sloping terrain, pull the hand brake first before shifting to P. Pag aalis ka na, shift to R or D first before releasing of hand brake

Brought my SF to the dealer last Wednesday. They said the door lock handle button is busted and they will file for replacement under warranty. They'll inform me once the warranty is approved. In the meantime, I took the unit home while waiting for their call.

Upon googling, I noted that there are similar issues with Canadian & USDM SF units but the dealers there replace the door lock actuators and not the door lock handle.
